In the first days of the new year, localities in the mountainous district of Huong Son continued to maintain and promote the movement of "everyone plants trees, every household plants trees" to contribute to protecting the ecological environment, stabilizing livelihoods and increasing income for people. According to the plan, in addition to planting scattered trees in residential areas, during the Tet holiday, communes and towns in Huong Son planted about 39 hectares of concentrated forests (77,800 trees). This is considered the "starting" stage for the plan to develop planted forests in 2024.
Mr. Le Ngoc Danh - Head of the Forest Protection Department of Huong Son district said: "The Department is coordinating to urge and direct localities, units, and forest owners to soon complete the target of registering for tree planting in early spring to create a premise for completing the forest development plan in 2024. We are also making efforts to manage well issues related to forest development to strive that by the end of the year, the whole district will plant 1,295 hectares of acacia and enrich the forest of 200 hectares with native tree species such as: lim, gong, de, doi mo...".

Huong Khe is also one of the localities with the largest concentrated forest planting plan in the province this year. Right before the traditional Tet holiday, localities in the whole district have started to "start" planting trees and afforestation and simultaneously launched the Tet tree planting campaign. Up to this point, the whole district has planted nearly 35 thousand trees of agarwood, acacia, star, dracontomelon, lagerstroemia, mango, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tai - Deputy Head of Huong Khe Forest Protection Department informed: "This year, the whole district will plant 1,250 hectares of concentrated forest, so from the beginning of the year, we have focused on inspecting and supervising the process of forest planting, forest exploitation and guiding households assigned land, forests, especially those assigned natural forests to seriously carry out the work of protecting, zoning, promoting regeneration, and enriching forests according to regulations. We will also strengthen the management of projects related to forests and forestry land, conversion of forest use purposes, forestry models, scattered tree planting, and production of forestry seedlings in the area...".

In 2024, the province plans to plant 8,600 hectares of concentrated forests, including 8,300 hectares of production forests and 300 hectares of protective and special-use forests (currently planted on about 20% of the total area). Thereby, striving to achieve a forest cover of over 52%, exploiting 588 thousand m3 of raw wood and aiming for many other important goals.
