In July 2025, Hanoi attracted 77.4 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), of which 30 projects were newly licensed with a total registered capital of 6.5 million USD; 10 projects were adjusted to increase investment capital with additional registered capital of 50.3 million USD; foreign investors contributed capital and purchased shares 27 times, reaching 20.6 million USD.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the whole city attracted 3,754 million USD of FDI capital, an increase of 91% over the same period in 2024.
Of which, 222 new projects were registered with a capital of 244 million USD; 99 additional projects increased investment capital with a registered capital of 3,193 million USD (of which the Yen So Park construction project of Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd. with capital contributed by Malaysia increased by 1,120 million USD); 200 foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares, reaching 317.1 million USD.
Regarding business registration, in July, Hanoi city granted certificates to 2,585 newly established enterprises, up 1% over the same period last year; registered capital reached 20.7 trillion VND, up 1%; 853 enterprises resumed operations, up 3.3%; 2,231 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, up 51.1%; 367 enterprises dissolved, down 7.4%.
In the first 7 months of 2025, the city granted certificates to 18.3 thousand newly established enterprises with registered capital of 182.9 thousand billion VND, an increase of 0.6% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 11.8% in registered capital over the same period last year.
6.8 thousand enterprises resumed operations, up 4.5%; 21.5 thousand enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, up 19.7%; 3.3 thousand enterprises dissolved, up 28.9%.
The rate of online business registration applications is maintained at 100%, ensuring quality and timeliness.
