On March 12, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh and his delegation had a working session with key leaders of Dak Nong province to discuss the removal of difficulties and obstacles related to bauxite planning and exploitation.

At the meeting, the leaders of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee raised current problems for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to consider and provide guidance on solutions to recover and protect minerals to implement projects in areas where bauxite minerals are discovered.

The leaders of Dak Nong People's Committee also requested to organize the issuance of licenses for exploration and exploitation of minerals for common construction materials in the bauxite exploration and exploitation planning area. Regarding the recommendations of Dak Nong province regarding the difficulties and obstacles in the exploitation and processing of bauxite ore, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that for the issues proposed by the province under its authority, the Ministry will assign specialized units to coordinate with the province to find solutions as soon as possible. For issues beyond its authority, the Ministry will take note and make recommendations to higher levels. The urgent issue that needs to be studied and resolved is the issue of land reclamation and closure of mines that have been exploited.

During the working session, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh assigned two specialized units of the Ministry to coordinate with Dak Nong province to conduct field surveys, study current regulations for implementation, and soon help the province remove difficulties and obstacles.
