On October 4, the Vietnamese Sepak Takraw team won the gold medal at the 19th Asian Games, after defeating the Indonesian team with a final score of 2-1. As a result, the team will receive a bonus of nearly 2 billion VND for this achievement.
Specifically, according to State regulations, the reward for a gold medal is 140 million VND. The team has 6 players, so each person receives 140 million VND, a total of 840 million VND.
"The Vietnamese sports delegation will also receive a bonus of 400 million VND," Head of the delegation Dang Ha Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports announced after the opening of the 19th ASIAD.

Not only that, the team received 300 million VND in bonus from the Vietnam Sepak Takraw Federation. The Hanoi National Sports Training Center offered a reward in the form of a sponsorship of 200 million VND for a gold medal (the coach received 100 million VND and the athlete received 100 million VND).
This is the second gold medal of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD. Previously, shooter Pham Quang Huy won a gold medal in shooting. The Vietnamese sports delegation completed the target of winning 2-5 gold medals at this year's games. The gold medal in sepak takraw was also expected because the team reached world-class level.
Sepak takraw once helped the Vietnamese team win a gold medal at the 2006 ASIAD. After 17 years, this sport has changed a lot. The Vietnamese Sepak takraw team also had to calculate its strength, consider choosing the events to participate in and make the decision to compete in the 4-person events for men and women.
