SJC gold bar price sets new historical peak, 16.6 million/tael higher than world price

Domestic gold bar prices this morning (August 14) increased by half a million VND per tael, setting a new historical peak.

Specifically, this morning, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) raised the price of gold bars to 123.7-124.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 700,000 VND for buying and 500,000 VND more expensive for selling.

Phu Quy Group and Bao Tin Minh Chau also raised the price of gold bars to 123.7-124.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Meanwhile, other large gold trading enterprises in the market such as Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), DOJI Group, etc. raised the price of gold bars to 123.5-124.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

124.7 million VND/tael is the highest price of domestic gold bars ever.

The difference between the two buying and selling prices of gold bars of the brands has narrowed to only 1-1.2 million VND per tael, instead of 1.5-1.7 million VND per tael as in previous sessions.

Compared to the beginning of the year, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by more than 39 million VND per tael, equivalent to an increase of nearly 50% in just over 8 months.

Following the trend of gold bars, the price of gold rings also skyrocketed in this morning's trading session.

The price of SJC 99.99 gold rings of 1-5 chi increased by 300,000 VND in both directions, reaching 117.1-119.6 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Other businesses also adjusted the price of gold rings up by 200,000-500,000 VND per tael, listing the buying price at 116.8-118 million VND/tael, and the selling price around 119.5-120.5 million VND/tael.

On the world market, the spot gold price at 12:14 on August 14 (Vietnam time) was at 3,360.3 USD/ounce, up 2.7 USD/ounce compared to last night. Converted according to the bank exchange rate (including taxes and fees), the world gold price is equivalent to 108.1 million VND/tael.

Domestic gold prices increased faster than world prices, leading to a widening gap between the two markets.

The world gold price is about 16.6 million VND/tael lower than the price of SJC gold bars and about 11.5 million VND/tael lower than the price of SJC gold rings.
