Ibrahim Abdulrauf, 22, lives in the UK. It all started in 2015, when he was only 14 years old. While playing football with his brother, Ibrahim suddenly injured his right leg, according to the Daily Express (UK).

At first, Ibrahim thought the pain was nothing serious. But the next day, he was unable to walk and was taken to the hospital by his family.

Doctors discovered that the cause of Ibrahim's condition was a bone infection. They then transferred him to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, England. Tests later revealed that he had bone cancer in his right shin. The cancerous part needed to be removed. He also underwent six months of chemotherapy.

The part of his right leg that was amputated was from the femur down. However, doctors advised Ibrahim to undergo a rotational operation. This involved amputating the knee and shin, but leaving the foot. The foot would be attached to the femur but rotated 180 degrees, so the toes would point behind him and the heel would point forward. When the prosthesis was fitted, the junction between the foot and the prosthesis would function similarly to a knee joint.

"I couldn't imagine seeing myself with an inverted foot. I thought it was strange like the character Frankenstein. When I woke up after the surgery, I saw my foot was upside down," Ibrahim said.

After recovering, it took him about three years to learn how to walk with a prosthetic leg. Now, Ibrahim is 22 and can play a number of sports and even dance, according to the Daily Express.

"I can play badminton. I usually play on weekends. I am very grateful that I can still live independently. Now, I can take care of myself," Ibrahim added.
