Rushing construction of key projects

Under the hot autumn sun, groups of workers are still diligently operating machines. The sound of engines resounds day and night at the construction site of the Suu stream water supply project in Ha Giang 2 ward and the Provincial Road 183 project from Quang Binh commune to Dong Yen commune. These are two key projects of Tuyen Quang province.

Mr. Luong Van Doan, Director of the Tuyen Quang Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: “The Board has directed staff to closely monitor the site, promptly handle and remove difficulties and obstacles to speed up the construction of all project items. We consider this a task of both economic and social significance and profound political significance. Therefore, the staff, engineers and workers are determined to reach the finish line early.”

The Suu stream water supply system project has a total investment of more than 323 billion VND, implemented in two phases. The goal is to protect and sustainably exploit the Suu stream water source, providing clean water for about 40,000 people in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards and neighboring communes; at the same time, serving irrigation for about 1,000 hectares of agricultural land, including medicinal plant growing areas, special-use forests and high-tech agricultural and forestry areas.

Implementing the investor's directive, at the construction site, construction teams and groups maintain "3 shifts, 4 shifts", and machinery operates continuously. With high expertise and professionalism, the team of engineers and workers are rushing to complete the final items such as installing pumps, completing the treatment area and tank, and leveling internal traffic roads to meet the handover schedule, putting the project into operation before September 2. Phase 1 of the project has basically completed all main items, only installing pumps for testing; Phase 2 has reached 90.4% of the contract value.

Mr. Tran Quang Thuc, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Company Limited - the construction unit said: "In May and June, the rain lasted up to 20 days each month, many streams rose high, making it difficult to transport materials. From July until now, the weather has been favorable, so the company has arranged overtime and mobilized maximum machinery to make up for the progress. Currently, all items of the project are ready to be completed before August 25 to hand over the project."

Ms. Ma Thi Hanh in Ha Giang 2 Ward shared: “I live in Phong Quang Commune, now Ha Giang 2 Ward. Due to the terrain conditions located on high mountains, the place where I live is very short of water. People hope that the project will be put into use soon to have clean water for daily life. At that time, our children and grandchildren will have clean water, and we can also grow more vegetables and fruit trees.”

At the project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 183 with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND, 36.5 km long, meeting the standards of a grade 4 mountainous road, the roadbed, road surface, drainage culverts, all new bridges and repaired bridges have been basically completed. Many difficulties in implementing the project have been overcome, especially site clearance when the road passes through many residential areas and dense technical infrastructure. At the construction site, groups of workers urgently spread asphalt, installed drainage systems, completed slopes and painted road markings; rollers, graders, and asphalt paving machines operate continuously, creating a bustling working atmosphere.

Nguyen Thanh Luong, Director of Provincial Road 183 Project Management, said: “The biggest challenge was site clearance, but it has been resolved. Once the site was handed over, we immediately increased manpower, equipment, and organized continuous construction to shorten the progress. It is expected that by August 26, the entire project will be completed, ensuring technical traffic opening before the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.”

When completed, Provincial Road 183 will contribute to promoting trade in goods, reducing transportation costs, opening up opportunities to develop concentrated production areas, and improving access to medical and educational services for people in Quang Binh and Dong Yen communes. Mr. Hoang Van Loi, a transportation service business in Quang Binh commune, said: “Currently, although some items are still being completed, travel is much more convenient than before. When completed, the time to transport goods will certainly be shortened, costs will be reduced, and goods will arrive at the market faster and fresher. Trading for small traders like us will be much more convenient.”

“Along with the meaning of celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, putting the two projects into use on time also affirms the efforts of the investor, contractor, and local government in overcoming difficulties to complete the project on schedule, creating trust for the people and business community in the favorable investment and business environment in the locality,” emphasized Director of the Construction Investment Project Management Board Luong Van Doan.
