According to information from the Department of Tourism, in 9 days (from January 25 to February 2, from December 26 of the lunar calendar to the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed nearly 970,000 tourists, an increase of 21% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year.
Of which, international visitors reached nearly 230,000, domestic visitors reached over 740,000. International overnight visitors reached nearly 140,600. Total tourism revenue reached 2,600 billion VND, up 43% over the same period of the Lunar New Year.
In the early spring of the new year, the province's spiritual and cultural destinations continue to be the focus of attracting tourists, with the number of visitors here increasing 6-8 times compared to normal days. On February 2 alone (the 5th day of Tet), Quang Ninh welcomed 208,000 arrivals, an increase of 14% compared to the 5th day of Tet Giap Thin 2024. Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City) reached nearly 15,600 arrivals; Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District) reached about 20,000 arrivals; Yen Tu National Special Relic Site (Uong Bi City) reached nearly 24,300 arrivals; Bach Dang Relic Site (Quang Yen Town) reached nearly 23,000 arrivals; Tran Dynasty Relic Site (Dong Trieu City) reached 16,000 arrivals.
On this occasion, famous tourist attractions and entertainment areas also welcomed an increase of 40-50% in the number of visitors, such as: Ha Long Bay welcomed nearly 8,000 visitors; Sun World Ha Long Park welcomed 1,500 visitors; Quang Ninh Museum welcomed nearly 900 visitors... International visitors entering through Mong Cai border gate reached over 4,200 visitors.
The number of tourists has increased, with many large groups of visitors coming to Quang Ninh by road, sea and air since the beginning of the year, which is a positive start for a year of impressive growth in Quang Ninh tourism, with the goal of welcoming 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors.
