At around 11:40 a.m. the same day, at Km800+500 of National Highway 1A, passing through Phong Thai ward, a working group of the Traffic Police Department of the City Police discovered a Lao passenger car (Yen Hai) with license plate number UN2359 running in the North-South direction with suspicious signs, so they asked to stop the car for inspection.

Authorities asked driver Nguyen Van Khoa (born in 1986, residing in Hoa Vang Ward, Da Nang City) to open the passenger car compartment and discovered 19 sealed styrofoam boxes, disguised with plastic. Upon inspection, a large quantity of smelly chicken cartilage with a total weight of about 1 ton was discovered.

Through investigation, driver Nguyen Van Khoa admitted that 19 boxes of chicken cartilage were transported from the Lao border gate to Da Nang for sale. The Traffic Police Department is coordinating with the Economic Police Department of the City Police to continue to verify and clarify.
