On March 27, FPT Corporation officially opened the R&D Center for high technology and semiconductor chips at Software Park No. 2, Da Nang City.

This is one of the steps affirming FPT's strong commitment to accompany the city in promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, realizing the aspiration of creating a "Silicon Bay", a place to nurture "Make in Vietnam" technology products, implementing important Resolutions such as Resolution 57-NQ/TW, Resolution 136/2024/QH15.

Strategically located in Danang Software Park No. 2, FPT High-Tech and Semiconductor R&D Center has a total area of ​​nearly 3,000 m2, inheriting the facilities of a modern technology center, with a location facing the sea.

The establishment of the R&D Center is one of the concrete steps to realize the commitment of the comprehensive cooperation program between FPT Corporation and the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City announced in January 2025.

Accordingly, the two sides will cooperate in investing in research, technology development and resources in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industries. FPT is also the first technology unit to operate at Da Nang Software Park No. 2, which is expected to become an important core in the city's new technology ecosystem.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City shared: "Implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW, Da Nang identifies the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the top important breakthrough, the main driving force in socio-economic development.

Along with that, the National Assembly's promulgation of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on piloting a special mechanism for Da Nang's development to promote Da Nang to become a modern special economic zone, making important contributions to the country's overall development, opens up a broad vision, creating momentum for the city's strong transformation in the new era."

The opening of the FPT High-Tech and Semiconductor R&D Center, the first to be put into operation at Software Park No. 2, continues to create a new foundation, motivation, and mindset for the City to rise up in the new era..., Mr. Minh affirmed.

FPT High-Tech and Semiconductor R&D Center in Da Nang is determined to become a "Tech hub", the "birthplace" of high-tech products bearing the mark "Made by FPT - Make in Vietnam". The goal is to gather 500 technology experts here by 2025 and continuously expand in the future.

This place will also research and develop 100% Made by FPT products, with an average expectation of 10 new products being launched each year, responding to real social problems. This will become a destination for connecting startups in the region, sharing experiences and spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation to the business community.

In the semiconductor field, FPT believes that human resources are the core foundation of Da Nang in its strategy to become a semiconductor center. FPT will accompany in researching and developing technological solutions, training human resources, providing scholarships and job opportunities for students majoring in semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence from training facilities in Da Nang City. In addition to the chip design part that is continuing to be promoted in Da Nang, FPT has opened new areas of advanced packaging and testing (ATE testing) in high-tech parks and duty-free zones in Da Nang.

"We have created an ecosystem of more than 200 Made by FPT products and services, widely serving global customers. In 2024, the Made by FPT product ecosystem recorded revenue of VND 2,267 billion, an increase of 31% over the same period. The Group has a scale of 80,000 global employees, of which Da Nang alone has 10,000 high-quality employees," said Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa.

In 2024, FPT will contribute 176.6 billion VND to the State budget for Da Nang. In the city, FPT has 10,000 high-quality employees, contributing 69% of the city's total software export turnover.

In Da Nang, FPT has researched, developed and launched 10 new products, aiming to solve hot problems in many fields such as the VertZero greenhouse gas inventory automation solution, the LendVero full-process loan management system, the ArchiveNex electronic storage system; AZINSU Digital Insurance Platform...

Also at the exhibition event Da Nang - 50 years of development and integration held on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of Da Nang City (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the city's liberation (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), FPT introduced the Made by FPT product ecosystem, accompanying Da Nang in the journey of digital transformation, building a smart and modern life.
