Danang – Ahmedabad, India flight serves nearly 10,000 passengers in 4 months

DNVN - After about 4 months of operating the direct flight route Da Nang - Ahmedabad with a frequency of 2 flights/week, Vietjet Air has served nearly 10,000 passengers traveling between the two cities.

Late on February 15, a working delegation led by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, in coordination with Vietjet Air and more than 20 local tourism businesses, landed at Ahmedabad International Airport (India), preparing for a roadshow to introduce and promote Da Nang tourism.

The delegation of Da Nang tourism industry landed at Ahmedabad International Airport (India) late on February 15, 2025.

Ahmedabad is the largest city in the state of Gujarat and the seventh largest metropolitan area in India, with a population of approximately 5.1 million. It is one of India's vibrant economic hubs and an attractive destination, similar to Da Nang and the Central region in its unique combination of ancient cultural heritage and modern development.

Vietjet Air's pioneering operation of the direct flight route Da Nang - Ahmedabad with a frequency of 2 round trips/week from October 2024 has created favorable conditions, promoting trade as well as exchanging tourist resources between the two localities.

Informing Vietnamese Enterprises, Ms. Mai Anh - Communications Director of Vietjet Air said that after about 4 months of operating this route, the airline has served nearly 10,000 passengers traveling between the two cities, opening up many opportunities to expand cooperation, develop tourism, trade and cultural exchange between Vietnam and India.

According to Ms. Mai Anh, Da Nang, along with other prominent destinations in the “Central Heritage Road”, is increasingly attracting the attention and love of Indian people and tourists with its world-famous beaches, luxurious resorts, and especially with products and services ready for lavish weddings…

“With the increasing demand for travel and tourism between Da Nang, the Central region in general and India, Vietjet Air is researching and evaluating the potential to open more and increase the frequency of its flights to attract more Indian tourists to Vietnam and Da Nang, contributing to the economic and tourism development of the locality and the region,” said Ms. Mai Anh.

Previously, in October 2024, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in collaboration with Vietjet Air organized the opening of the Da Nang - Ahmedabad route; at the same time, invited Miss Universe India 2024 - Rhea Singha and KOLs Ekta Sandhir to relax, experience and make videos and photo sets to promote Da Nang tourist destinations.

Along with that, Da Nang also welcomed a famtrip delegation of 20 travel companies and a presstrip delegation of 19 journalists from India to survey, interview and write in-depth articles promoting the city's tourism in newspapers and major mass media of this country of a billion people.

Deputy Director in charge of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center Huynh Thi Huong Lan said that the city's tourism industry is focusing resources to proactively promote the image of Da Nang tourism and open flights from the city on the Han River to several cities in India; diversify products and services to form a tourism ecosystem to meet the needs and tastes of Indian tourists; improve service quality and service quality; ensure security for all destinations in Da Nang.
