On the side of Dong Hy district, there were Secretary of the District Party Committee Nguyen Van Ngoc; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thuy; Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee Vu Quang Dung; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the district; leaders of communes and towns; representatives of enterprises, businessmen, and philanthropists inside and outside the district.

Speaking at the Program, Secretary of Dong Hy District Party Committee Nguyen Van Ngoc said that in recent years, under the close direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the coordination and facilitation of the provincial departments and branches; along with the determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges of the Party Committee, the People's Government of all ethnic groups in the district; the socio-economic situation of Dong Hy district has had many positive changes; infrastructure has received investment attention, the New Rural Construction Program has been effectively implemented; social security policies have been fully and promptly implemented; political security has been maintained, social order and safety have been ensured; the work of building the Party and the political system has had many positive changes; the appearance of the district has improved; people's lives have been gradually improved.

However, Dong Hy is still a mountainous district, the whole district still has 1 commune in the particularly difficult situation. The rate of poor and near-poor households in the district has decreased, but it is not really sustainable, the possibility of falling back into poverty is still a potential risk... The whole district currently has 1,341 poor households, accounting for 5.5%, 1,084 near-poor households, accounting for 4.45%; the average income per capita is low compared to the general level of the province.

Van Lang is the commune with the highest poverty rate in the district, with 445 multidimensional poor households, accounting for 30.93% (of which 339 are poor households and 119 are near-poor households). People's lives still face many difficulties, especially in two hamlets with a large population of Mong people, Lien Phuong hamlet and Ban Ten hamlet.

Although infrastructure has been given attention, it is still lacking and not yet synchronized... so it is in great need of investment and support from the Party, the State, Thai Nguyen province, agencies, organizations and individuals; the business community, philanthropists inside and outside the district so that Dong Hy district in general and Van Lang commune in particular can have more resources to accelerate socio-economic development, gradually improve the material and spiritual life of the people, especially to become a new rural commune by 2024.

Secretary of the District Party Committee Nguyen Van Ngoc acknowledged and sincerely thanked the sentiments and attention of the sponsors who gave meaningful and practical gifts to the people of Van Lang commune. Hopefully, in the coming time, Dong Hy district will continue to receive the attention and assistance of agencies, units, organizations, individuals, business communities, entrepreneurs and philanthropists inside and outside the district for poor and near-poor households in Dong Hy district.

The Secretary of Dong Hy District Party Committee also requested the Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of Van Lang commune to continue promoting the strength of solidarity and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges; focus on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of tasks and solutions in the field of economic and social development, pay attention to implementing social security policies well, gradually improving the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people, especially policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances in the area.

“In particular, the Party Committee, government, and mass organizations of Van Lang commune need to continue to promote propaganda and mobilization work, regularly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, reflect, consider, and promptly resolve them in accordance with regulations. Receive and seriously deploy support resources from organizations and individuals, select beneficiaries to ensure fairness, objectivity, and correct beneficiaries, avoid duplication; do not let complaints and denunciations arise to ensure effectiveness and compliance with regulations,” emphasized Secretary of the District Party Committee Nguyen Van Ngoc.

At the Program, Dong Hy district deployed the Plan to organize "The peak period of joining hands to build Van Lang commune to meet New Rural standards" in 2024. Next, the district received direct support from 150 agencies, units, enterprises and over 2,000 cadres, civil servants, public employees, and hundreds of individuals with an amount of nearly 1.2 billion VND.

From the above funding source, Dong Hy district will support poor and near-poor households in Van Lang commune to build and repair houses, sanitation works, support people's livelihoods, production tools, agricultural materials, seedlings; support hamlets and Van Lang commune to build and repair public works in hamlets to meet new rural criteria...

On this occasion, the district leaders presented a letter of thanks to agencies, units and enterprises for supporting and joining hands to build Van Lang commune to meet new rural standards in 2024, and Dong Hy district to become a new rural district in 2025.
