Looking towards the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers, the Vietnam U23 team has many new faces joining this gathering.
The 2023 Panda Cup international friendly tournament organized by the Chengdu Football Association (China) was postponed to another time due to stadium maintenance schedules, but the Vietnam U23 team is still focused because the team's purpose is to prepare for important tasks in the coming time.

To build and develop the U23 Vietnam team, in addition to the key players in the squad that participated in the recent SEA Games 32 (except for Le Van Do and Nguyen Thanh Nhan who were absent due to injury), coach Philippe Troussier called up many new faces such as: Goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet, defender Nguyen Duc Anh, midfielder Hoang Van Toan, striker Vo Nguyen Hoang.
Most notable is Nguyen An Khanh, an 18-year-old Vietnamese player who is playing for the U19 Sigma Olomouc club of the Czech Republic and was personally recommended by coach Philippe Troussier for call-up.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U23 team will start training from June 5 in Hanoi. During this training period, the team will have two friendly matches with the Hanoi Police Club on June 14 at the PVF Youth Football Training Center and meet the Hai Phong Club on June 17 at Lach Tray Stadium.
