To implement this Directive, retail businesses have been implementing many solutions to prepare goods supply and stimulate consumer demand. Talking to reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, a representative of the WinMart supermarket system said that the last months of the year are always considered the golden time for the retail market, especially during the Lunar New Year when consumer demand increases.
Grasping this trend, WinMart/WinMart+/WiN has proactively prepared a diverse supply of goods, ensuring quality and getting the best prices. At WinMart supermarkets and WinMart+/WiN stores nationwide, customers can easily find essential food items such as rice, cooking oil, vegetables, meat, etc., along with typical products that are consumed a lot during the Tet holiday season such as candy, soft drinks in large quantities on the shelves. In particular, the retail system has worked with suppliers 2 to 3 months before Tet to increase inventory by 20% compared to the same period, avoiding shortages or sudden price increases.
Agreeing, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Deputy General Director of BRGMart Supermarket System said that in order to meet people's shopping needs, BRGMart has coordinated with suppliers to forecast consumption output and plan to stockpile Tet goods 2-3 times higher than the months of the year.
In addition, the system imports goods, ensuring that transportation vehicles operate well during peak months of November and December, ensuring control of high-quality goods, food safety and hygiene, transparent origin, good for customers' health and stabilizing market prices.
Also speaking to a reporter from the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung - Director of Co.opmart Hanoi supermarket said that the amount of goods served at the end of this year could increase by about 30-40% compared to normal, up nearly 10% compared to last year's Tet. According to the forecast of this supermarket chain, purchasing power and revenue will increase by about 10% during the Lunar New Year, focusing on essential goods, processed foods, Tet gift baskets, etc.
Efforts to stabilize prices, increase promotions at the end of the year
In addition to stimulus programs, Winmart supermarket representatives shared that WinMart/WinMart+/WiN also shows its support for consumers by actively participating in market stabilization programs and closely coordinating with localities across the country. These programs not only ensure the supply of essential goods and stabilize prices, but also help local people feel secure when shopping during peak seasons. For example, in the provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Dak Lak, Vinh Long,... businesses are committed to increasing reserves and maintaining stable prices for hundreds of items in the fresh food, processed food, and essential goods groups.
Along with ensuring the supply of goods, in response to the program "National Concentrated Promotion 2024 - Vietnam Grand Sale 2024" launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the year-end shopping atmosphere at WinMart/WinMart+/WiN also becomes more exciting with a series of attractive promotional activities.

This retail system also cooperates with Ariel and Neptune brands to launch 2 consecutive Brand Week programs in December with discounts up to 30%, giving discount vouchers when shopping online at winmart.vn.
Price stabilization is also the policy of the Coop Mart supermarket system. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung said that regarding selling prices, the unit aims to maintain stable prices and even increase promotions.
Currently, the Coop Mart supermarket system has worked with suppliers and most of them support maintaining stable prices. For vegetables alone, the unit has signed contracts and provided capital support to seven major suppliers, so key items such as carrots, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, etc. are expected to have prices 10%-15% better than the market.
“Currently, the general trend of consumers is to like going to supermarkets because the goods in supermarkets, especially food and vegetables, are all goods with clear origin and guaranteed safety. Therefore, Coop Mart is confident in providing consumers with products that meet their requirements at competitive prices,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung affirmed.
In Directive No. 12/CT-BCT, the Minister of Industry and Trade also requested that, in the face of possible price fluctuations, the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces, units under the Ministry, enterprises and corporations take measures to stabilize the market, not allowing hoarding, shortages, and disruptions in goods sources, causing sudden price increases during the end of the year and the 2025 Lunar New Year. With the consensus of enterprises, it is expected that the source of goods for the end of the year and the 2025 Lunar New Year will be abundant, prices will be stable, and meet consumer demand.
