Within the framework of the 2024 People's Foreign Affairs Program, the Hanoi Delegation led by Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong had a meeting and exchange with ViMariel Company - a Vietnamese enterprise joint stock company investing and doing business in Cuba.

Receiving and discussing with the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company said that ViMariel Company is the first and only foreign management investor to date licensed to operate in the Mariel Development Special Zone through granting the right to use land plots to invest in construction and management, and business infrastructure of ViMariel Industrial Park with an area of ​​156.24 hectares, total investment of 41.3 million USD.

In particular, the northern subdivision (86.24ha) has completed the investment and construction of technical infrastructure by the end of 2022; the southern subdivision (70ha) is implementing the investment and construction of technical infrastructure and will be completed in 2024. Currently, there are 60ha of clean land eligible for land lease business, there are 5 investors operating in the Industrial Park with a total investment of more than 70 million USD, of which 2 investors from Vietnam prioritize agricultural industries (fertilizer production, animal feed, rice, corn...) to help the Cuban Government in ensuring food security.

Implementing the direction of General Secretary To Lam after General Secretary To Lam's state visit to Cuba in September 2024, ViMariel-CTCP is supporting AGRI VMA Company, a Vietnamese enterprise operating in animal feed production in Cuba, to implement a rice planting project in Cuba according to the content of the agreement signed between the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Currently, ViMariel-CTCP is promoting the attraction of secondary investors to invest in ViMariel Industrial Park, focusing mainly on enterprises from Asia (especially enterprises from Vietnam and China), focusing on urgent industries such as: agriculture, livestock, poultry, seafood and processing and manufacturing of consumer goods.

At the meeting, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City informed about the socio-economic situation of the Capital and highly appreciated the efforts of ViMariel Company in contributing and supporting the economic development of Cuba, promoting the economic relations between Vietnam and Cuba on par with the political relations between the two countries, creating conditions for many Cuban people to have stable jobs.

From there, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong hopes that the Company will continue to uphold national pride, solidarity, promote creativity, overcome difficulties, strive to develop investment and business, contribute to the development of Cuba; truly be an important bridge for the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
