Comrade Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province led the survey team. Also participating were representatives of the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of Hoang Mai town and Dien Chau district.
The National Assembly delegation of Nghe An province surveyed the progress of converting forest use purposes to other purposes to implement the Silic Sand Mining Project (phase 1) in Quynh Loc commune, Hoang Mai town. This is the only project to convert forest land use purposes according to Resolution No. 36 of the National Assembly in the province.

Accordingly, the total land area serving the project in Quynh Loc commune is more than 270 hectares; of which, the converted forest land area is nearly 86 hectares (in Resolution No. 66, dated December 9, 2022 of the Provincial People's Council); the Provincial People's Committee has approved the conversion of forest use purposes. Currently, the investor is compensating and clearing the site to implement the project as soon as possible.

The survey team also surveyed the conversion of rice fields to implement the Dien Thang industrial cluster investment project in Minh Chau commune, Dien Chau district, according to Resolution No. 65, dated December 9, 2022 of the Provincial People's Council.
This is one of five rice land conversion projects under the mechanism of Resolution No. 36 of the National Assembly. Up to now, out of the total of more than 70 hectares of rice land converted to implement the project, 40 hectares have been compensated and cleared.

Based on the actual survey, on behalf of the monitoring delegation, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Thai Thi An Chung requested that the investor and local authorities coordinate closely in implementing compensation and site clearance work, and pay attention to resolving arising issues, especially those related to the people's legitimate petitions and needs.
Along with that, the process of site clearance and project implementation ensures progress; focuses on ensuring environmental sanitation, creating convenience in production and people's lives during construction and when going into production.

The Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation emphasized: Converting and reclaiming people's production land to serve projects means that people will lose their means of production; therefore, it is recommended that local authorities coordinate with investors to prioritize recruitment and job creation for people.
