Participating in Working Group No. 8, Ninh Thuan province were comrades: Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Luu Xuan Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Chamaléa Thi Thuy, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

Working Group No. 8 has more than 250 delegates from 3 provinces: Khanh Hoa, Dak Nong, Son La, a number of central agencies, units and domestic enterprises. Before Working Group No. 8 boarded ship HQ571 departing from Cam Ranh international port to visit the islands and DK1/7 Platform, Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung, Deputy Commander of the Navy, Head of the Working Group informed about the situation of the sea and islands in recent times; the results of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Navy; the Party and State's policies and guidelines on protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. The Deputy Commander of the Navy emphasized that the propaganda work on the sea and islands in recent times has contributed to raising awareness and motivating cadres and party members; Soldiers, union members, enterprises, people of all walks of life, and the Vietnamese community abroad promote the strength of national solidarity, the will of self-reliance, actively participate in responding to activities towards the sea and islands, contributing to the successful implementation of the tasks of economic, cultural, social, security and defense development of the country, developing the sea and island economy and protecting national territorial sovereignty and borders.

Comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented gifts to soldiers and people of Song Tu Tay island.

Regarding the implementation of the Party and State's policy on building Truong Sa into an island district strong in defense, good in lifestyle, beautiful in environmental landscape and the Open Letter of the Naval Region 4 Command on joining hands to implement the Program "Greening Truong Sa", in recent times, localities, collectives, individuals, businesses and people across the country have joined hands to support trees, materials and funds to green an island or island cluster to increase the coverage of trees, contributing significantly to shielding, blocking wind, storms and the defense and combat capabilities of the army and people on the islands. Implementing this policy, during the visit to encourage the army and people of Truong Sa island district, DK1/7 Platform of the province, comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented 200 million VND to the Naval Region 4 Command, contributing to joining hands to implement the Program "Greening Truong Sa" in 2023.

During the 7-day voyage (from May 3 to 9, 2023), Working Group No. 8 visited and presented gifts to the islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Nam, Co Lin, Sinh Ton, Da Tay A, Truong Sa and DK1/7 Platform. At each island, the Working Group listened to reports from the leaders and commanders of the islands and platforms on the living conditions, life, and tasks of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the army and people on the island; expressed their feelings, aspirations, and gratitude for the deep concern of the Party, the State, central and local agencies, departments, branches, political and social organizations for the army and people of Truong Sa island district. At DK1/7 Platform, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Working Group did not directly visit DK1/7 Platform. The Group shared their feelings via walkie-talkies, leaving many emotions surging between the delegates of the Working Group and the officers and soldiers of DK1/7 Platform.

At the meeting with cadres, soldiers and households on Sinh Ton island, comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the provincial working delegation, sent his best wishes to the cadres and soldiers on duty on the island; at the same time, shared the difficulties and sacrifices of the cadres, soldiers and households on the islands; the efforts and determination to overcome hardships and dangers to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. With the spirit of "All for beloved Truong Sa", the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The Party Committee and people of Ninh Thuan province always turn to beloved Truong Sa and continue to promote the emulation movement for Truong Sa, carry out propaganda work more effectively to raise awareness and responsibility of cadres and people in the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

The delegation also attended the flag-raising ceremony, offered incense at the monument to heroic martyrs, the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House on Truong Sa Island; commemorated the Vietnam People's Navy soldiers who heroically sacrificed for the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, and the sacred southern continental shelf of the Fatherland in the Gac Ma and Co Lin islands; and offered incense at the Monument of National Duke, Commander-in-Chief Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan on Song Tu Tay Island.

On this occasion, the provincial delegation met, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to soldiers from Ninh Thuan who are working on the islands; visited and presented gifts to the Technical Support Team of Truong Sa Airport. Here, Comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inquired about the health, work situation and life of the officers and soldiers of the unit, and at the same time noted some recommendations of the officers and soldiers and requested relevant departments of the province to pay attention and provide support solutions.

Also on this occasion, the provincial delegation presented many practical and meaningful gifts to the soldiers and people on the islands and DK1 Platform, with a total value of nearly 500 million VND. The sentiments of the delegation No. 8 and many meaningful gifts for the officers, soldiers and households on the islands and DK1/7 Platform have promptly encouraged and added confidence and strength to the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1/7 Platform to feel secure, excited, attached to the sea and islands, standing firm at the forefront of the wind and waves, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland.
