On the morning of August 20, a working delegation of the National Committee on Youth led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, member of the National Committee on Youth, had a working session with the People's Committee of Lao Cai province on the implementation of legal policies on youth startups in the period 2021 - 2024.

Comrade Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the delegation; also attending were leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

At the meeting, the Department of Home Affairs briefly reported the results of organizing and implementing policies and laws on youth startups in the 2021-2024 period.

Accordingly, with the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on startup support activities in the province, along with the participation of all levels and sectors, the youth startup movement has spread among union members, youth, students and pupils. Clubs have been established and maintained effectively, attracting the participation of pupils and pupils, contributing to income generation and career orientation, suitable to the capacity of each individual.

Implementing activities to promote youth entrepreneurship in the period of 2021 - 2024, Lao Cai province has developed and issued many directive documents and plans related to this content; built and linked components in the local youth entrepreneurship ecosystem; supported the development of youth startups; actively inspected and supervised the work of supporting youth entrepreneurship activities...

As a result, 100% of specialized union officials at all levels working to support youth startups are trained in basic knowledge about startups and supporting youth startups. 100% of district-level union organizations annually conduct propaganda activities to raise awareness about startups and digital transformation for youth. In 2022, the Provincial Union supported 24 models, and in 2023, supported 25 models of youth startups and business administration. More than 500 youths were equipped with knowledge and trained to improve their capacity in startups and business administration. 25 enterprises and cooperatives owned by youth were consulted and supported in developing enterprises and cooperatives. 19 communes were supported to implement the One Commune One OCOP Product program and had youth products that met OCOP standards.

At the meeting, delegates gave many suggestions to effectively implement legal policies on youth startups in the 2021-2024 period in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, member of the National Committee on Youth, highly appreciated the achievements of Lao Cai province in implementing legal policies on youth startups, and at the same time suggested that the province continue to pay more attention to the implementation of this program; further promote the role of associations, groups, and youth startup clubs to support youth startups, encourage businesses to transfer technology to youth. It is necessary to further exploit the characteristics of the border province to develop effective cross-border startup models; more effectively exploit international projects for local youth startups. In startup support activities, the province needs to pay more attention to students and ethnic minority youth, promote the application of information technology, digital transformation for youth startups...

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Giang Thi Dung accepted the assessments and comments of the National Committee on Youth on the implementation of legal policies on youth start-ups. She also emphasized that Lao Cai province always pays attention to policies to encourage youth start-ups, especially for ethnic minority youth. She expressed her hope that the National Committee on Youth will continue to pay attention so that the province can effectively implement legal policies on youth start-ups, promoting the role of youth in socio-economic development in the area.

Comrade Giang Thi Dung also requested departments and branches to continue to complete reports and propose to the province difficulties and problems to resolve, thereby implementing the program with the highest efficiency.
