On August 16, a youth delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Nguyen Xuan Anh, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of Bu Gia Map Border Guard Station (Dong Nai Province). The delegation also included representatives of the Youth Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs and the Dong Nai Province Department of Foreign Affairs.
The visit is one of the meaningful activities within the framework of the "Back to the Roots" program, welcoming the success of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , term 2025-2030 and towards the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025). This is also an opportunity for the young generation of diplomats to directly learn, experience and pay tribute to the silent contributions of the border guards on the front line of the Fatherland.

At the meeting, the delegation heard about the 50-year process of building and growing up of Bu Gia Map border post - a unit established on June 22, 1975, managing Bu Gia Map commune, including the National Park of the same name. This area has complex mountainous terrain, 75% of the population are ethnic minorities, life is still difficult.
Over the years, the station has always closely coordinated with the Party Committee and the communal government in propaganda work, mobilizing people to protect the border and landmarks; supporting families with preferential policies to develop the economy and society, ensuring security and order. Due to its location deep in the core area of the national park, there is only one road in and out. Despite many difficulties, the officers and soldiers have persisted in staying and uniting to maintain the border "fence".

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Anh, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry, emphasized that the visit was an opportunity for the young generation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to review the 80-year revolutionary tradition of the sector, and at the same time better understand the close relationship between diplomacy and national defense. Diplomacy is responsible for negotiating and signing agreements and treaties, while national defense directly manages and protects borders, fights crime, and maintains security and order.
Although the two forces have different missions, they are both working towards the common goal of firmly protecting national sovereignty. On behalf of the delegation, he wished good health and encouraged the officers and soldiers to continue to overcome difficulties and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Song Kiem, Chief of Bu Gia Map Border Guard Station, on behalf of the officers and soldiers, thanked the delegation for their attention. He said that in addition to national defense duties, the unit also implemented many practical social security models such as: "Border Guard Station Party members in charge of poor households", the program "Helping children go to school" deducted from each student's salary to support 500,000 VND/month, currently 4 students have received it.
In addition, the station also donated breeding cows, grass cutters, and sugarcane juice vending machines to help people develop their livelihoods. During Tet, the unit mobilized businesses and benefactors inside and outside the province to give gifts to people, and organized programs such as “Spring on the border warms the hearts of the villagers”, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the army and the people.
Regarding border diplomacy, Bu Gia Map border post maintains regular exchanges and cooperation with the Cambodian border protection force. In 2014, the unit organized a twinning of residential clusters on both sides of the border between Bu Gia Map commune and the opposite unit on the Cambodian side. This activity contributes to building friendship, cooperation, maintaining security and order and a peaceful environment on the border. On special occasions such as before the Lunar New Year, the two sides regularly visit, wish each other a happy new year and exchange information.

On this occasion, the delegation presented gifts to encourage the spirit and support the lives of officers and soldiers. The gifts, though small, expressed the affection, sharing and respect of the young generation of the Diplomatic sector for those who are guarding the border day and night.
