The Vuong Dance in the Spring Night of the Giay People

Although sharing the same historical origin, language and some cultural characteristics with other ethnic groups, the Giay people still retain their own characteristics, especially in the folk song genre with many different melodies. Songs and chants are sung anytime, anywhere in funerals, weddings, congratulations, festivals and especially when Giay boys and girls make love. Giay folk songs have three very popular forms: Vuong ha lan (singing beside a tray of wine), Vuong hang ham (singing to confess love) and Vuong sroong ran (song to send off), but the most special are the sweet and affectionate "Vuong" melodies of Giay boys and girls on Spring nights.
