As a face that is gaining attention from audiences after many successful roles in both television and movies, Diep Bao Ngoc continues to affirm her diversity in acting with the role of a female ghost in "Getting Rich with Ghosts", a new film by director Nguyen Nhat Trung.

Becoming known through the Miss Teen 2010 and Miss Women of the Era 2011 contests, Diep Bao Ngoc entered the acting profession with her first role in the movie "The Pain of Happiness" (2011). After that, she was invited to participate in a series of roles in TV series such as "The Idol of Many Tricks" (2012), "Rice Blossoms" (2012), "A Time of Forgetting" (2015), "After the Glory" (2018), "Eyes of the Devil" (2020), "Border of Love" (2021), "Spring Dance" (2022) or "Red Flower Farm" (2022).

In 2023, the young actress made her mark in “Flip Side 6: The Fateful Ticket”, through the role of Lien, An’s wife (Thanh Thuc), an important character in the film and plays a key role in the relationship of the group of friends in the film. This is also the turning point role of Diep Bao Ngoc when she agreed to participate in sensitive scenes to ensure the character’s personality is built.

The role of Lien also has many heavy psychological scenes, with fast changes, requiring the actress to put in a lot of effort. Lien is also the role that Diep Bao Ngoc is destined to play because she is very careful in choosing scripts, and almost refused director Ly Hai because of Lien's sensitive scene.

This year, Diep Bao Ngoc continues to add to her film list the second movie “Getting Rich with Ghosts”, with a role that is completely different from all the roles she has played. That is Na, a ghost who helps the main character “get rich”.

It was Tuan Tran who suggested Diep Bao Ngoc for the role of Na and was immediately approved by director Nguyen Nhat Trung. The filmmaker born in 1972 shared: “I have worked with Diep Bao Ngoc a lot, I understand that her acting is very suitable for the role of Na. Diep Bao Ngoc's advantage is that she acts very simply, without embellishment.”

Diep Bao Ngoc recalls: “The reason Ngoc accepted the role of Na in this film was also very coincidental. One beautiful afternoon, Trung called Ngoc and said there was a role that was very suitable for Ngoc. After reading the script, Ngoc was very excited to know the background of the character Na.”

Na in “Getting Rich with Ghosts” is an extremely “unique, strange” ghost compared to what the audience usually sees in movies. In the journey to help Lanh (Tuan Tran) “get rich”, she is clumsy and naive. Many times, the character has to “collide” with other ghosts in an extremely humorous way. Diep Bao Ngoc said: “Up until now, when watching movies, in everyone’s imagination, ghosts are very scary, very scary. But this ghost will be very different”.

Director Nguyen Nhat Trung revealed: “I told myself that I would not make a ghost character with a white face, to scare people, to make them afraid. This character Na is a ghost who leaves her grave for the first time to go out into “society” and meet other ghosts. As the film progresses, the more the audience watches, the more they will forget that this is a ghost and will feel that Na is a real person.”

Not only is she humorous and has a funny "silly" side, Na also has many different emotions when facing many events both in the past and present. Diep Bao Ngoc confided: "Ghosts also have joys, anger, love and hate, also have frustration or ignorance. This is one of Ngoc's first ghost roles, so Ngoc is very satisfied."

The actress also revealed more interesting surprises about Na or many humorous and emotional scenes that the audience will enjoy in “Getting Rich with Ghosts”. The combination of the ghost Na and Lanh by Tuan Tran promises to bring an entertaining performance, lots of laughter as well as quiet emotions to the audience.

“Getting Rich with Ghosts” revolves around the story of a strange deal between cockfighter Lanh and ghost Na to earn money and get rich. The film features many long-time, famous artists such as Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh, Quang Minh, Le Giang… This is also the debut film of director Nguyen Nhat Trung.

The film is produced by 24H Pictures, distributed by Galaxy Studio, and is scheduled to premiere on August 30 in theaters nationwide.
