In her opening speech, critic Thy Lan, Vice President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, emphasized: "The Poetry Night is a rare opportunity for delegates and poetry lovers to listen to the author himself read poetry and watch poetry recitation clips and reports on poetry by poet Nguyen Duy in a large, beautiful and warm space. We will experience the author's own emotions and feelings, but they will touch everyone's hearts."

As part of the Vietnam poetry reading tour, the poetry night is an opportunity for poetry lovers to listen to poet Nguyen Duy read poetry and watch poetry recitation clips and reports about his poetry.

Growing up during the resistance war against the US, poet Nguyen Duy was once a squad leader of the militia on duty in the Ham Rong bridge area, a key target of fierce attacks by the US air force. In 1966, he joined the army, belonging to the Information Command. He fought for many years on the battlefields of Route 9 - Khe Sanh, Route 9 - Southern Laos, Ta Con, and later the northern border (in 1979).

After April 30, 1975, he moved to work at the Liberation Literature and Arts Newspaper and the Literature and Arts Newspaper until his retirement. Nguyen Duy has published 18 volumes of poetry and 3 volumes of prose. In 2007, he was awarded the “State Prize” for Literature and Arts.

Nguyen Duy's poetry night received the attention of many poetry lovers.

“Nguyen Duy Poetry Night” includes 10 performances, including some poems read by poet Nguyen Duy himself such as: Warmth of the straw nest, Do Len, Cau Bo, Sitting sadly missing my mother in the past, Looking for relatives... These are poems that “go with the years”, attached to many Vietnamese people in general, Thanh Hoa in particular. Pouring his heart out to read poems, sharing about the circumstances of each poem's birth, poet Nguyen Duy affirmed that he is receiving new energy from his homeland and the audience.
