Proposal for investment policy of Ben Hien Urban Tourism Area project

According to the report of FVG Group Corporation, in the strategy of developing urban - tourism - cultural space in the west of Da Nang city, Ben Hien commune (formerly Ma Cooih and Ka Dang communes, old Dong Giang district) plays a particularly important role.

This is a potential area that has not been exploited synchronously, located right in the center of the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate connecting route, belonging to the key development corridor that was just announced within the framework of the International Travel Conference - Quang Nam 2025 with the theme "Heritage Route: Where nature meets culture".

According to the development orientation of this heritage corridor, Ben Hien is not simply a transit point, but is identified as a strategic stop, which can be developed into a typical satellite city associated with the Co Tu cultural identity, the natural ecosystem of the mountains and forests, and at the same time is a place to create living space, trade and restore the indigenous economy.

In the approved master plan, the central area of Ben Hien commune - where the project is proposed to be implemented - has been identified as an administrative - service - residential center, adjacent to the commune People's Committee headquarters and adjacent to two major traffic axes including Ho Chi Minh road and provincial road DT609.

However, the current situation here does not have large-scale public spaces, the traditional market is still small, lacking architectural highlights and new model residential areas to attract people to settle down and develop the local economy...

Based on the urgent development requirements mentioned above, the Ben Hien Urban Tourism Area project was proposed for investment with the orientation of creating a model satellite urban area, fully integrating residential, commercial, park, service and tourism functions, becoming the core of urban - commercial - service development for the commune center, a stopover to promote identity, serve tourists on the heritage route, contributing to creating a quality living space, community activities and livelihoods for the people.

According to the local government, the proposal to invest in Ben Hien Urban Tourism Area is completely consistent with the urban development orientation of the Western region of Da Nang city, contributing to concretizing the strategy of expanding heritage space on the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang axis with indigenous urban areas with identity, functions, and infrastructure serving tourism and the community.

The Ben Hien Urban Tourism Area project has a scale of about 30.4 hectares, combining functional areas that have been oriented in the master plan including: Ma Cooih market area, commune central park, new residential area and renovated existing residential area. The total investment is about 290 billion VND, the expected implementation period is 2025 - 2030.
