Vocational training linked to job creation

Having just graduated from the forestry college level course organized by the Song Thanh National Park Management Board in collaboration with Quang Nam College in Nam Giang, Mr. Zo Ram Chuyen and 30 other students all fulfilled their wish to improve their qualifications.

Mr. Chuyen is an employee of the Song Thanh National Park Management Board, but due to the remote conditions, he has not been able to study to meet the standards, even though he has been working as a forest protection officer for a long time. When the school coordinated with the Management Board to organize the course, he immediately registered.

In Tam My commune, a vocational training course on industrial sewing associated with job placement right after graduation was recently opened by Quang Nam College, Chau Son Garment Company Limited and Tam My commune government.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Ni (34 years old, Phu Tho village, Tam My commune) shared: “I participated in the consultation session with the hope of being supported in vocational training and job referrals to stabilize my life, because my family is currently in a difficult situation. I have a child who finished grade 9 but could not enter grade 10, so I also hope the school will advise on suitable vocational training.”

Close coordination between the three parties

Mr. Tao Quy Tam, Deputy Director of Song Thanh National Park, said that the on-site training course with staff and lecturers from Quang Nam College has helped the Management Board's staff a lot.

“This is a special course as all the students are officers and employees working at the Song Thanh National Park Management Board - a unit that plays an important role in the conservation and development of the precious forest ecosystem of the Central region.

Being equipped with specialized knowledge and skills in forestry will help officers and employees improve the effectiveness of forest management and protection, apply science and technology into practice, thereby contributing to preserving the green color of Song Thanh National Park and the surrounding primeval forest area.

This is a testament to the “practical training” model, helping students both learn and apply knowledge right at the workplace,” said Mr. Tam.

Participating in the vocational training and employment consultation session in Tam My commune, a representative of Chau Son Garment Company Limited affirmed that they will work with Quang Nam College to support workers in vocational training, internships at the company and employment immediately after graduation.

Mr. Ngo Thanh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Chau Son Garment Company Limited, said that the company is located in Nui Thanh commune, and currently 80% of its workforce are locals.

Mr. Tuan informed: “Over the years, the company has always supported communes in communication programs, consulting, career orientation, vocational training and job creation for local workers. In the coming time, the company has a strategy to expand production scale in neighboring localities, so it needs a large skilled workforce to serve production. The company will coordinate with Quang Nam College and communes to train and recruit local workers as well as related support policies”.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Anh, Principal of Quang Nam College, said that in recent years, the school has coordinated with localities and businesses in the area to provide career orientation, organize vocational training classes at all levels, and solve employment problems for young people, students, and workers after vocational training.

The school standardizes training content, knowledge on occupational safety and hygiene, law, business, entrepreneurship, soft skills and innovation for rural workers, meeting the industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas in each locality.

“Training focuses on practice, especially from the production and business practices of enterprises, enhancing the application of science and technology, and digital transformation in all stages of the training process.

For each unit, locality, and learner, the school researches and organizes training at college and intermediate levels in an open, flexible, and appropriate manner.

In the near future, we will continue to send cadres and lecturers to the grassroots, coordinate with localities in the city's mountainous areas and coordinate with units and businesses to support workers in vocational training," said Ms. Phuong Anh.
