Immediately after the MV "Bac Bling" was released, many tourists were very curious to visit the locations that appeared in the MV's scenes such as Phat Tich Pagoda, Dau Pagoda, Do Temple, Ba Chua Kho Temple, Kinh Duong Vuong Tomb, Dong Ho Folk Painting Village, Phu Lang Pottery Village, Bac Ninh Museum, Lonely Tree...
Grasping this trend, from March 8, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Bac Ninh has organized a free tour "Bac Ninh Cultural Quintessence - Heritage Colors" with a frequency of 2 routes per day, each route includes 2 45-seat tourist cars, attracting Bac Ninh people and tourists from Hanoi and other provinces and cities to experience.
Thanks to the timely opening of free tours and tourist routes, the number of tourists coming to Bac Ninh on weekends has increased dramatically.
Director of Bac Ninh Museum and Tourism Promotion Nguyen Huu Mao said: “From March 8 to 23, we welcomed about 2,000 visitors to the tour “Bac Ninh Cultural Quintessence - Heritage Colors”. The number of visitors to the program is increasing every day, but with the policy of “not letting anyone leave without visiting Bac Ninh”, starting from March 22 to June 29, we increased the number to 4 routes/day and mobilized more vehicles from units in the province. To ensure the quality of the tour, we implemented the form of online service registration to serve the maximum number of registered visitors with the best service quality”.
Sharing after visiting the destinations, Mr. Nguyen Manh Dat, 97 years old, in Niem Xa area (Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh city) excitedly said: “It has been a long time since I had the opportunity to visit these relics. I visited some destinations for the first time thanks to participating in the free tour program. I am very proud that the beauty of my hometown is increasingly known to many people.”
Eager to join the tour, tourist Minh Hang, 22 years old, from Hoa Binh city said: “As soon as Bac Ninh province opened the free tour, my friends and I prepared beautiful traditional costumes to film clips at the historical sites that appeared in the MV “Bac Bling”. This is a popular trend among young people. Besides, participating in the program also helps me understand more about the beauty of Bac Ninh land, thereby fostering more love and pride in Vietnam's cultural heritage.”
“Leverage” to attract customers
The timely implementation of the free tour program shows the agility of Bac Ninh province in mobilizing social resources, taking advantage of digital technology to promote and develop tourism associated with the cultural industry. The resonance effect between many factors has contributed to making the name Bac Ninh "light up" on the Vietnamese tourism map after a long period of "sleeping". That also shows that, if knowing how to make the most of resources, each locality can attract tourists with "key" products built on its rich "reserves" of heritage.
However, to avoid the situation of only being crowded when there are promotions or freebies, Bac Ninh needs to turn the tour “Bac Ninh Cultural Quintessence - Heritage Colors” into a “key” product that can be exploited for a long time. To do this, in addition to the province’s orientations and policies, it also needs the support of businesses.
According to Mr. Luong Duy Ngan, General Director of Newstar Group Joint Stock Company, Bac Ninh needs to build joint tours to attract tourists from Hanoi and international visitors to the province. In addition to the established tourist routes, it is necessary to diversify experiences, improve service quality to extend the length of stay, and increase the spending of tourists when coming to Bac Ninh.
Mr. Luong Duy Ngan also said that Newstar Group is currently building a package tour program from Hanoi to Bac Ninh, including full services and insurance to serve the needs of tourists traveling from Hanoi.
With a rich source of "cultural capital" of 1,589 relics; 4 intangible cultural heritages representing humanity recognized by UNESCO, 8 national intangible cultural heritages, 547 traditional festivals, 120 craft villages... Bac Ninh always determines to become one of the major cultural tourism centers of the Red River Delta and the whole country. This is the consistent orientation given in Decision 406/QD-UBND dated September 19, 2022 approving the Project "Promoting the value of cultural heritage associated with tourism development in Bac Ninh province for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030".
According to Director of Bac Ninh Museum and Tourism Promotion Nguyen Huu Mao, in order to attract more domestic and international tourists to the province in the coming time, Bac Ninh will implement programs and activities to promote and introduce the tourism potential, land and people of Kinh Bac in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese and European markets. In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh also builds model tours, in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture to build OCOP products associated with traditional craft villages to increase services and souvenir products for tourists when coming to Bac Ninh.
