The social science exam consists of 3 parts with 3 subjects: history, geography, and civics.

Each section has 40 multiple choice questions, to be completed in 50 minutes. There is a 10 minute break between each test for collecting and distributing the test papers.

Exam time is from 7:30 to 10:25.

NKV - a student at Viet Duc High School - took the social science exam. V. said the exam was "easy" and he could be confident with a score above 8 in each subject.

The differentiating part of the history exam is knowledge about Nguyen Ai Quoc's revolutionary activities and campaigns in the war against America (1954-1975).

In geography, many candidates at the Viet Duc exam site were happy because the test was "easy". The questions on Atlas skills were not challenging. Like last year, the test did not mention the Atlas page numbers.

However, the candidates were carefully instructed by the teachers on how to view the Atlas according to the content, so they no longer encountered difficulties and confusion like the candidates in 2023.

The most difficult part lies in the questions requiring opinions on solutions for economic sectors and economic regions in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector.

Bich Ngoc, a student at Dinh Tien Hoang High School, said the history test was a bit difficult, with a lot of event data to memorize. She did about 60-70%, with 7-8 points. In geography, she did about 80-90% because the questions were relatively easy. "With this social science test, I hope to get 7-8 points," Ngoc said.

Candidate Do Phuong Nhi, a student at Viet Duc High School, said that this year's social science exam was not too difficult. She did about 80% of her geography exam, and the same for history.

In particular, the exam differentiated well, especially the history subject, which had about 5 practical questions and I also "chopped randomly". This year's Civic Education exam was longer than last year's. I predict that I will get about 8 points on the social science exam.

Each exam subject is numbered from 301 to 324. 24 candidates in 1 exam room are randomly given 24 exam codes, ensuring that no 2 candidates share the same exam code in 1 exam room.

In March this year, the Ministry of Education and Training announced sample test questions for the 2024 high school graduation exam.

Accordingly, the history illustration exam has a similar structure to 2023, with content focusing on 12th grade history knowledge.

The test has 5 questions from the 11th grade history textbook with content about the two world wars, the construction of socialism in the Soviet Union and Vietnamese history from 1858 to the end of the 19th century.

Differentiated questions start from question 30 and highly differentiated from question 33 to question 40.

The 2024 high school graduation exam has a record number of candidates choosing the social science combination exam, accounting for 63% of the total number of candidates taking the exam.

Compared to last year, the number of candidates choosing the social science exam increased by 7.7% and is the highest in the past 6 years.
