Four border communes that have invested in building inter-level schools: Buon Don, Ea Bung, Ia Lop and Ia Rve still face many difficulties.

According to the proposal of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, each commune will have a primary and secondary boarding school with a scale of 1,000 students, an area of 4 hectares, an investment capital of about 105 billion VND, the total cost of 4 schools is 420 billion VND.

Teachers will be arranged through transfer and staffing, ensuring sufficient teaching staff when the school comes into operation.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province - emphasized: "Building an inter-level boarding school is not only a short-term solution but also creates a long-term foundation for human resource development".

Mr. Do Duy Toai - Chairman of Ea Bung Commune People's Committee - said that building an inter-level boarding school is a policy suitable for border areas.

"Here, the demand for boarding and semi-boarding schools is very high, but there are not enough conditions to meet it. If there is a new, spacious school, children will have a more complete education, and families will feel secure in sending their children there," Mr. Toai hopes.

In Ia Rve commune, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Van Hoa said: "For the future of our children, we are ready to provide land. Investing in education is the most sustainable investment."

Proposal to combine new construction and renovation for border schools

In the survey, many localities proposed combining new construction and renovation to save budget. In Ia Lop commune, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Van Hieu said that the locality has more than 5 hectares of public land between two existing schools, which is convenient for developing into an inter-level school.

In Ia Rve commune alone, the government is considering two options: building new or upgrading Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School.

"New construction requires planning adjustments and higher costs, while upgrading will save money and make use of existing facilities," analyzed the chairman of Ia Rve commune.

Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Thanh Xuan requested that communes continue to carefully review land funds, water resources, and forecast school size to ensure smooth implementation.

"In particular, clean water is very important for boarding schools. Students must have a place to eat and live with adequate hygiene so that their families can feel secure in sending their children to school," said Ms. Xuan.
