On the morning of May 30, the Ninh Binh Provincial Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment held its 4th Congress for the 2024-2029 term. Attending the Congress were comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also attending were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment; representatives of a number of relevant departments, branches, units and a large number of members.

The Provincial Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment is a professional social organization of people interested in contributing or operating in the field of conservation of nature and environment. The purpose is to gather and unite members, support effective activities in the rational use and protection of natural resources, protect and improve the environment, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.

During the 2018-2023 term, the Provincial Association for Nature and Environment Protection has overcome many difficulties, continuously grown and organized many practical programs and activities, contributing to protecting nature and the environment in the province.

To date, the Association has attracted about 2,400 members with 3 branches and 13 environmental collective members. Some of the Association's professional activities have been recognized and highly appreciated, such as propaganda and dissemination of knowledge on environmental protection; actively participating in the appraisal of strategic environmental assessment reports and environmental impact assessment reports organized by competent authorities; participating in guiding the preparation of dossiers to request the Vietnam Heritage Tree Appraisal Council to recognize 9 Heritage trees in the province...

At the Congress, delegates also approved the action plan for the next term. In particular, it will continue to improve the organizational structure, innovate the form of activities, and attract a large number of members to participate. Coordinate with branches, environmental collective members, and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to propagate to members and people to respond to movements to protect natural resources and the environment. At the same time, strengthen consulting and social criticism for production and business projects that pose potential risks of pollution such as emissions, dust, wastewater, waste, etc. In addition, the Association continues to guide Ninh Van commune (Hoa Lu district) and Ninh Binh city to organize the preparation of appraisal records and honor Heritage trees.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Ninh Binh Association for Nature and Environment Protection for the 4th term (2024 - 2029) consisting of 22 comrades. Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Dung, former Chairman of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, was elected Chairman of the Provincial Association for Nature and Environment Protection.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual with achievements in environmental protection activities in the period of 2018-2023; The Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to 1 collective with outstanding achievements in implementing the province's emulation movements in 2023.
