The city awards scholarships to disadvantaged students who overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.
Along with the joyful and unique performances for children such as the full moon festival drums; singing and dancing “August lantern procession”; magic shows, at the program, children also got to watch lion dance performances in the joyful, warm, and loving atmosphere of the “Full Moon Festival Night”.
At the festival, the units also presented 300 Mid-Autumn gifts to disadvantaged children and children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the city. On this occasion, the City People's Committee presented 40 scholarships to children at SOS Children's Village, Hope Village, Family Shelter, Hoa Mai Center, Street Children Protection Center... who have overcome difficulties to excel in their studies.
In recent years, along with implementing socio-economic development policies, the city's authorities and organizations at all levels have always paid attention to effectively implementing programs to protect, care for and educate children.
Many special programs and policies with humane nature have been issued and implemented, such as: Monthly assistance policy; Gift giving policy for children in special circumstances on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival; Congenital heart surgery support policy; Tuition exemption policy... The city is implementing the construction of a child-friendly city - an initiative of UNICEF and is being implemented in many advanced countries in the world.
In order for all children in the city to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also requires 100% of districts, communes and wards to direct and organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children in accordance with the actual situation of the locality, ensuring safety, health and practicality. In particular, attention should be paid to children in special circumstances, children from poor households, near-poor households, children from ethnic minority areas, orphans and children affected by natural disasters and epidemics.
At the same time, promote communication activities, create changes in awareness and responsibility of agencies, organizations, families, schools, communities and the whole society towards the implementation of children's rights.
