At this time, most schools have not updated their tuition rates for the 2024-2025 school year. Therefore, the tuition data used for comparison is for the 2023-2024 school year.
Accordingly, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, the general program of information technology and information security is 14.5 million VND/semester, the high-quality program of information technology in English is 26.1 million VND/semester and the high-quality program of information technology in Vietnamese is 23.2 million VND/semester.
Thus, each school year, students majoring in information technology have to pay 29-52.2 million VND depending on each program.
Tuition fees for information technology majors at universities vary.
Ho Chi Minh City Open University charges tuition fees of 27 million VND/year for computer science, management information systems, information technology, and data science.
At the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), the tuition fee for data science, information technology, software engineering, information systems, computer science, and artificial intelligence is 30.4 million VND/year, while the tuition fee for information technology (high quality) is 39.9 million VND/year.
Meanwhile, this group of majors at the University of Science and Technology and the University of Information Technology (both under Ho Chi Minh City National University) have tuition fees of 30 and 35 million VND/year.
Ton Duc Thang University alone plans to charge tuition fees of VND31,680,000/year for software engineering, computer science, computer networks and data communications in 2024-2025. In the 2023-2024 school year, these majors will charge VND28.8 million/year.
FPT University has a tuition fee of 28.7 million VND/semester, 3 semesters per year so students have to pay about 86 million VND/year.
In Hanoi, the tuition fee for information technology at Hanoi University of Science and Technology is 50 million VND/year, and at the University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is 37 million VND/year. At Hanoi University of Science and Technology, students in this group have to pay from 26-29 million VND/year, while students at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) pay from 28.5-35 million VND/year.
Schools in the Central region have the lowest tuition fees. For example, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and the University of Technical Education (Danang University of Technology) have tuition fees of only 16.4 million VND/year. The University of Technology (Danang University) has tuition fees of 28.7 million VND/year. Quy Nhon University is also only 17.5 million VND/year.
Thus, even though they train in the same IT field, there are differences between public universities, the highest difference is 24 million VND/year. And the highest difference between a public university and a private university is up to 70 million VND/year.
In the 2024-2025 school year, school tuition fees may increase by 10% compared to the 2023-2024 school year.
