In order for the 2023 Clean Up the World Campaign to achieve high results, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment requests ministries, branches, socio-political organizations, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, relevant agencies, organizations and units to organize activities in response to the 2023 Clean Up the World Campaign. Specifically, continue to launch community movements such as launching environmental sanitation campaigns, planting trees, improving and restoring the environment in urban areas, residential areas and neighboring areas, especially on lakes, rivers, canals, streams...

Coastal provinces and cities and agencies and units in coastal localities should increase environmental cleaning activities at beaches and coastal areas, focusing on collecting and recovering products made from plastic, packaging, and hard-to-decompose nylon bags and transporting them to recycling and treatment sites according to regulations; organizing the handover of cleaned beaches and coastal areas to responsible organizations and units to prevent recurrence of marine environmental pollution. Based on actual conditions, each agency and locality should organize peak campaigns, events, movements, and action programs to respond and create high spreading value.

Agencies and units promote propaganda, dissemination and education to raise awareness and responsibility of people and communities in protecting, preserving and ensuring environmental sanitation in the area; classify waste at source, minimize waste generation, increase waste reuse and recycling; refuse to use single-use plastic products and hard-to-decompose nylon bags; encourage the development and use of environmentally friendly alternative products; at the same time, promote propaganda on the theme, message and activities responding to the Campaign to Make the World Cleaner in 2023 nationwide.

Local press agencies, radio and television stations increase the time for propaganda and communication on environmental protection, especially contents related to green economy, circular economy, environmental activities... The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment advocates implementing communication programs in the direction of innovating content, diversifying appropriate forms of propaganda and communication on technology platforms, suitable for target groups. At the same time, discover and replicate typical examples, models, initiatives, solutions, and good practices on environmental protection. Reward according to authority or propose competent authorities to reward organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in environmental protection.

The Clean Up the World campaign was launched globally by the United Nations Environment Program in 1993 and is held annually in the third week of September.

In recent years, in Vietnam, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has initiated the Campaign and has received response from ministries, departments, branches, and central and local organizations. Thereby, it has created a widespread impact and important changes to the entire community in environmental protection work, typically movements such as: Launching campaigns to clean up the environment, collect waste, plant trees, clean the sea, replicate models of collecting, classifying, and treating household waste and plastic waste at source, and implementing propaganda to bring environmental protection laws into people's lives...
