At 5:00 p.m. on November 4, the Traffic Police Department of Thua Thien - Hue Province and Phu Loc District Police were still deploying forces to regulate traffic on the North - South route on National Highway 1A near Phuoc Tuong Tunnel after an incident in which a container truck overturned, causing a one-way traffic jam.

Previously, at around 3:15 p.m. the same day, at Km2+430 of the northern approach road to Phuoc Tuong tunnel on National Highway 1A, through Loc Tri commune (Phu Loc district), a container truck with license plate 50H-203.19 (driver's identity unknown) traveling from South to North hit the hard median strip in the middle, then overturned into the right lane of the route.

Fortunately, the accident did not cause any casualties, but the vehicle was severely deformed. In addition, some road construction items such as signs, hard dividers, reflectors, etc. were also damaged. The accident caused traffic congestion on National Highway 1A through the above-mentioned area.

In addition, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Thua Thien Hue Province and the Fire Prevention and Rescue force of Hai Van Tunnel are implementing measures to prevent fire and explosion due to oil spills on the road surface.

According to initial assessment, the cause of the accident was due to the driver falling asleep and losing control of the steering wheel. Currently, the authorities are still focusing on rescuing the damaged container from the scene.
