Reporting on the situation of using state statistical data and information in 2022 and 2023 at the Provincial People's Committee, the leader of the Provincial Statistics Office said that Thai Binh province identified the provision of input data and information of departments, branches and sectors as one of the key tasks of statistical work; the provision and dissemination of complete, timely, objective and honest socio-economic statistical information is extremely important to serve the leadership, direction and administration of leaders at all levels in the work of researching and planning guidelines, policies and strategies for socio-economic development.

To unify the coordination and information provision work and assign the collection of input data to synthesize statistical indicators in the province, the Provincial People's Committee periodically requests departments, branches and sectors to deploy the collection and provision of information to calculate statistical indicators, serving the construction of reports on the socio-economic situation of the province.

Accordingly, the number of monthly, quarterly, 6-month, 9-month and annual socio-economic reports are all issued in full with 12 reporting periods/year. Every month, the Department of Planning and Investment is assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to be the focal agency to receive data and statistical information provided by the Provincial Statistics Office and related departments, branches and sectors; synthesize and compile socio-economic reports, and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and issuance. In general, the state statistical data and information belonging to the system of statistical indicators at the provincial, district and commune levels in the reports of the Provincial People's Committee all ensure compliance with State regulations and laws.

Speaking at the conference, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: In recent years, the statistical data system provided by the statistics sector has basically met the requirements of leadership, direction and administration of the province; at the same time, it is very important to serve state agencies in assessing and forecasting the situation, planning strategies and policies for socio-economic development, and developing reports, programs and plans. In particular, this is also an extremely important source of data for the province to carry out the task of formulating the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that through the inspection, the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches will use statistical data more effectively; at the same time, point out limitations and inappropriate assessments, on that basis, promptly make corrections to improve the effectiveness of statistical work in the coming time.

He also assigned the Provincial Statistics Office and the Provincial People's Committee Office to take the lead; requested relevant departments, branches and localities to coordinate in preparing documents, reports, and arranging staff to work with the inspection team to ensure the completion of the inspection according to the set plan.
