Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee meets with Catholic and Protestant dignitaries

Kinhtedothi - On the evening of December 21, on the occasion of Christmas 2024 and welcoming the New Year 2025, the Hanoi Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee held a meeting to congratulate Catholic and Protestant dignitaries in the city.


Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Pham Tat Thang; Deputy Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyen Tien Trong; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong.

In a solemn atmosphere, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh sent his best wishes to the clergy, dignitaries, officials and all religious people to celebrate a peaceful, happy Christmas season, filled with God's grace.

Informing about the highlights of the socio-economic development results of the capital in 2024, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that this achievement was partly thanks to the contributions of dignitaries, monks and Catholics, Protestants in the city as well as followers of other religions in preserving and promoting the tradition of patriotism, accompanying the nation, and implementing well the city's development policies and programs.

During the meeting, Archbishop Vu Van Thien - Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese sincerely thanked the city leaders for their affection and attention to the Hanoi Archdiocese, and expressed his joy at the positive results the city has achieved in the past year.

Archbishop Vu Van Thien thanked the city's agencies for their continued attention, coordination, and support for the activities of the Hanoi Archdiocese over the past year, and sent his best wishes for health, happiness, and peace to the people of the capital during Christmas 2024 and as they prepare to enter the new year 2025. "With the proper guidance of leaders at all levels, Hanoi will continue to develop further in the coming years," said Archbishop Vu Van Thien.
