Osan City is the first locality in Korea to establish friendly cooperative relations with Quang Nam Province on March 10, 2004. As of 2024, Quang Nam Province and Osan City will have had 20 years of friendly cooperative relations.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders and people of Quang Nam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of Osan city and Mayor Lee Kwon Jae to visit and work.

Emphasizing the special relationship between Quang Nam and Osan through 20 years of cooperation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung during the delegation's visit and the Mayor will continue to strengthen the relationship and exchange activities, developing more in the coming time.

In addition to cultural exchange activities and festivals, Comrade Le Van Dung hopes that the Osan City government and the Mayor will pay attention to and support Quang Nam in promoting tourism potential, agricultural products, food, and Quang Nam OCOP products; calling on businesses to research and invest in the medicinal industry; attracting and solving seasonal labor problems, etc.

“Quang Nam has just had its provincial planning approved by the Prime Minister, including the project to exploit and process raw materials and medicinal herbs to serve economic development. I hope the Mayor will call on Osan enterprises to research, invest, and exploit and deeply process medicinal herbs, using Ngoc Linh ginseng as the main ingredient,” said comrade Le Van Dung.

Mr. Lee Kwon Jae - Mayor of Osan City thanked Quang Nam Province for the warm and thoughtful reception for the delegation. At the same time, he affirmed that the visit would continue to strengthen friendship and promote more effective exchange activities.

Mr. Lee Kwon Jae said that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of establishing relations, Quang Nam and Osan need to implement more specific cooperation contents to mark this meaningful event.

Mr. Lee Kwon Jae introduced some of the strengths in economic development of Osan City, including the semiconductor industry. At the same time, he said that after this business trip, he will try to explore and research economic-related fields so that the two localities can connect and support each other.

The Mayor of Osan City wishes that Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung will take time to attend the 36th Osan Citizens' Day celebration in September. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung accepted the invitation and said that he will send a delegation from Quang Nam province to attend the festival.

Leaders of the two localities agreed to assign departments and branches to continue exchanging and working to promote cooperation in various fields in the coming time.
