It is forecasted that from November 25 to November 27 in Quang Nam, there will be heavy rain, causing flooding in low-lying areas, affecting production and people's lives.

According to bulletin No. MLDR-92/09h30/QNAM dated November 23, 2023 of the Quang Nam Provincial Hydrometeorological Station: Due to the influence of the southwestern part of the continental cold high pressure combined with the activity of the high-altitude East wind field, from November 25 to November 27, localities in the province are likely to experience a period of moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, with the intensity of heavy rain to very heavy rain mainly concentrated from the afternoon of November 25 to November 26.

Total rainfall is as follows: Localities in the mountainous areas in the Northwest of the province generally have 50 - 120 mm, some places over 150 mm; localities in the plains and mountainous areas in the Southwest generally have 150 - 250 mm, some places over 300 mm. Heavy rain causes the risk of floods, flash floods, in rivers, streams in mountainous areas, landslides on steep slopes, small rivers, streams; causing flooding in low-lying areas, densely populated areas; affecting production and people's lives; can cause damage to construction works under construction, other economic and social activities in the province. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain: Level 1.

To proactively respond to heavy rain, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of districts, towns, cities, agencies and units to continue implementing Official Dispatch No. 349/BCHPCTT&TKCN dated November 21, 2023 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue on proactively responding to heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind, flash floods, landslides and inundation.

Proactively deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas to proactively develop plans to ensure the safety of people and property in areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides.

Proactively organize forces to be ready to control and guide traffic, put up warning signs, especially at culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, and fast-flowing water; proactively arrange forces, materials, and means to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain occurs.

Proactively prohibit the collection of firewood and fishing on rivers and areas of deep, fast-flowing water; boats, ferries, and ferries operating on rivers, streams, reservoirs, and areas of deep water to transport people and goods during floods; hydroelectric reservoirs are operating to regulate. Proactively implement measures to drain water, protect production, and prevent flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.

In addition, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development directs the work of ensuring the safety of dykes, reservoirs and irrigation dams, especially key works under construction; and protecting agricultural production.

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Department of Industry and Trade directs the work of ensuring safety of mines, mineral exploitation areas; safety of hydroelectric dams and downstream areas, especially small hydroelectric plants.

The Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Department of Transport directs the work of ensuring traffic safety in deeply flooded and isolated areas; directs timely handling of incidents and ensuring traffic on main routes.

Quang Nam Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors the development of natural disasters, promptly forecasts, and provides information to people and relevant agencies to serve the direction and response work.

Irrigation and hydropower reservoir management units conduct inspections and safety assessments of works; continue to effectively organize the notification to authorities and people in downstream areas about reservoir operation and regulation.

Departments and branches, according to their assigned functions and tasks, direct measures to be ready to respond when situations arise. Prepare forces and means for rescue when requested. Organize on-duty shifts and regularly report to the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue.
