'Sister-in-law' reaches 100 billion VND in revenue

As of the afternoon of January 10, Sister-in-law had reached 100 billion VND (according to Box Office Vietnam). The film, directed by Khuong Ngoc and written by the duo Kim and ToTo Chan, has contributed greatly to creating a work that is deeply Vietnamese, with the spirit of family and Vietnamese culture, enough to "touch" the audience's emotions.

With a motif that may not be groundbreaking - the story of a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law - but Sister-in-law is handled appropriately, maintaining a steady rhythm from beginning to end. Each character develops throughout the length of the film with each line of dialogue and behavior in each situation the film sets out.

Sister-in-law exploits well the psychological elements of the female characters where Viet Huong (Hai Nhi), Hong Dao (Ba Ky), Dinh Y Nhung (Tu Anh), Le Khanh (Nam Thu) and Ngoc Trinh (Ut Nhu) all have the opportunity to shine through their own acting styles.

The film is a story of destruction and healing, encapsulated by the director in the context of an old communal house that collapsed after a storm. The house is also a place to recreate memories with conflicts and long-hidden hurts between family members, and in the end, each person returns to each other with love and family affection.
