As of 9:30 p.m. on June 29, District 1 Police (HCMC) is coordinating with relevant units to investigate the cause of the fire at a 7-story restaurant in the area.
Fire breaks out at 7-story restaurant in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, many people flee
Accordingly, at around 8:40 p.m. the same day, a fire broke out on the 4th floor of a 7-story restaurant on Ky Con Street (Nguyen Thai Binh Ward). Smoke and fire billowed.

According to records at the time of the fire, inside there were some people wearing staff uniforms and a few girls holding their belongings and running outside to escape through the stairs.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of District 1 Police dispatched many specialized vehicles and about 50 officers and soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire. Some soldiers used rescue ladders to approach the scene, searching for people suspected of being trapped inside.
A representative of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07 - Ho Chi Minh City Police) informed that the fire was completely extinguished at 9:10 p.m. the same day. Eight specialized vehicles and 51 officers and soldiers were mobilized to put out the fire.
The fire was in the dining room on the 4th floor of the restaurant. This restaurant belongs to No.1 Restaurant Service Trading Company Limited, managed by District 1 Police.
This restaurant is currently closed for fire prevention and control work. Initial assessment is that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to clarify the cause and damage from the fire; at the same time, reviewing and handling violating establishments according to regulations.
