Facing a 'tough' opponent in Korea

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên28/11/2024

The Vietnamese team had a smooth start to their training trip in South Korea when they defeated Ulsan Citizen 2-0 in a friendly match on November 27. Two goals from Tien Linh and Tuan Hai helped coach Kim Sang-sik's team win against their opponent playing in the third division of South Korea (K-League 3).

At 12 o'clock tomorrow (November 29), the Vietnamese team will enter the second challenge named Daegu FC. Compared to Ulsan Citizen, Daegu FC is much stronger. This team is regularly present in K-League 1 and has played in the AFC Champions League 2023 - 2024.

Vietnam team prepares for second match in Korea

Although Daegu FC did not play successfully last season, finishing second to last (having to play in the play-off to compete for a ticket to stay in K-League 1), this is still a team with strength and experience.

Today, Daegu FC will face Asan in the first leg of the play-off at 5 p.m. (the second leg will be on December 1). Therefore, coach Park Chang-hyeon's team may not field their strongest lineup in the match against Vietnam at 12 p.m. tomorrow. However, a team that is in a state of having to compete to win the right to stay in K-League 1 like Daegu FC will still be an interesting opponent for coach Kim Sang-sik's Vietnam team.

Because at this point, any match is an opportunity for Daegu FC to maintain focus and practice tactics for the play-off series.

The Vietnamese team is maintaining a training schedule of two sessions per day during their training trip to Korea. In the morning, coach Kim Sang-sik lets his players do gym or physical exercises to improve their endurance and strength. In the afternoon, the players split into two teams to play against each other.
