Can Tho promotes cooperation in application and development of artificial intelligence

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City; Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City; Ms. Laura Nguyen - Executive Director of GenAI Fund and leaders of departments and units under the Department.

According to the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, the cooperation program aims to strengthen links and deploy AI solutions to serve management, administration and administrative support, and at the same time provide advice on building AI application models suitable for the characteristics of Can Tho City. In addition, the two sides also committed to supporting training, improving the capacity of staff, connecting international experts and implementing global certification training programs, thereby helping localities access advanced knowledge and catch up with new technology trends.

The cooperation content focuses on four main groups:

Building an AI Centre of Excellence: Supporting strategy, operating model, implementation roadmap, organizational structure and pilot projects applying AI in Can Tho.

Deploying practical AI applications: Surveying needs at departments, sectors and localities to build suitable solutions in urban management, healthcare, education , transportation... and at the same time establishing a testing mechanism (sandbox) before scaling up.

AI human resource training and development: Organize training courses from basic to advanced on AI, data management, AI ethics; design practical application programs and connect with international courses of AWS, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google and prestigious universities to grant international certificates to key staff.

Expanding the network of experts and international cooperation: Connecting domestic and foreign AI experts for professional advice; supporting participation in international forums and courses; organizing seminars and talks to update trends and expand global cooperation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - affirmed that the cooperation with GenAI Fund will help the city quickly grasp technology trends, take advantage of international expert resources to improve management efficiency, operation and service quality. He assigned the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate implementation, prioritize training and human resource development, and call on major investors to participate in developing science, technology and innovation in the locality.

The ceremony ended in an open atmosphere, promising to open up many new opportunities for Can Tho City to accelerate the process of applying artificial intelligence, promoting sustainable development and deeply integrating with global technology trends.
