Can Tho auctions 14 public lands, many of which are 'golden lands'

Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a plan and list of land plots to auction land use rights in 2024.

The purpose of auctioning land plots is to effectively exploit public land funds in accordance with approved land use plans and planning, increase revenue for the city budget, supplement public investment capital, and social welfare.

At the same time, solve the land use needs of organizations and individuals to invest in the city's socio -economic development; solve housing needs, improve the housing quality of the people.

The 14 land lots put up for auction include 4 land lots that were not auctioned in 2023, with a total area of ​​more than ^238,323m2 .

Among these, there are many plots of land located in prime locations right in the city center, considered golden land such as: Cai Khe roundabout land, Hau River tourist area land, Ninh Kieu district...

In particular, the Cai Khe roundabout land, since 2018, the City People's Committee has included it in the list of investment calls to build a tourist tower with a total investment of 1,500 billion VND.

However, for many years this place has been an empty land, mainly for planting trees and has not been exploited effectively.

By the end of 2024, if 14 public land plots have not been successfully auctioned, the City Land Fund Development Center is responsible for reporting, clarifying the causes, implementation solutions and proposing handling options according to regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tao - Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Can Tho City - said that in the immediate future, 10/14 public land plots will be auctioned according to the city's plan.

The City People's Committee has submitted an auction plan. Once the plan is available, a price appraisal will be organized and the next steps will be taken.
