Spread throughout the region
In the former Quang Nam area, many bus routes were established to meet most of the travel needs of all classes of people, reducing the number of personal vehicles on the road and contributing to minimizing traffic accidents.
In the old provincial capital of Tam Ky, there are intra-provincial bus routes to remote areas of Bac Tra My, Hiep Duc, Dai Loc, Que Son or to Hoi An. Also in Tam Ky, Tam Ky - Chu Lai airport, Tam Ky - Nui Thanh buses not only serve the needs of the people but also tourists .
In addition, Quang Nam and Da Nang (previously) have coordinated to open buses from Que Son to Da Nang, Tam Ky - Da Nang, Hoi An - Da Nang, Ai Nghia - Da Nang.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Muoi (residing in Thang Binh commune, old Thang Binh district) shared that more than a year ago, every time she wanted to see a doctor at Quang Nam General Hospital, she chose to go to the side of National Highway 14E to catch the Hiep Duc - Tam Ky bus. When she arrived in Tam Ky, the bus passed by the hospital and stopped, so she could easily go in for a check-up.
But by June 2024, most bus routes will stop operating, leaving only Tam Ky - Bac Tra My, Tam Ky - Nui Thanh, Tam Ky - Chu Lai airport routes.
Explaining why the Tam Ky - Hiep Duc, Tam Ky - Que Son, Tam Ky - Dai Phong, Tam Ky - Dai Lanh routes had to be stopped, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Director of QNABUS Transport Service Trading Company Limited, said that at that time, the authorities only allowed the signing of a 6-month contract to operate the route. With such a short time, no business would dare to invest in buying new vehicles according to regulations.
In April 2024, Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company - FUTA Bus Lines held a ceremony to announce 4 adjacent non-subsidized bus routes connecting Da Nang - Quang Nam (old). The routes put into operation include route 21 and route LK21 (now route 21) from Da Nang Central Bus Station to near the old Tam Ky bridge, route 02 and route LK02 (now route 02) from Da Nang Central Bus Station to Cua Dai (old Hoi An city), bringing joy to people who wish to travel on the route.
Need to reopen buses to the suburbs
The bus routes have been established to meet the travel needs of all classes of people as well as tourists.

From a professional perspective, this public service replaces most private vehicles on the road, thus reducing the risk of collisions and contributing to ensuring traffic safety. However, for various reasons, most bus routes in the old Quang Nam area have stopped operating. Meanwhile, the Song Han - Hoa Khuong port bus (route 17) of Da Nang city currently only runs to the border of Dai Hiep commune (old Dai Loc district). People who want to travel to Da Nang city by bus must "pay extra" by other means.
Le Vy (residing in Dai Loc commune) is a student at Quang Nam University who regularly uses the Tam Ky - Dai Phong (new Vu Gia commune) or Tam Ky - Dai Lanh (new Thuong Duc commune) buses. For more than a year now, the buses have been unavailable, so she has had to ride her motorbike to Tam Ky herself, or ask a relative to take her down to Highway 1 to board bus route 21 to Tam Ky.
People from Thu Bon commune who want to go to Thang Binh to visit their children and grandchildren also have difficulty because there are no more buses going from Vu Gia commune, across Giao Thuy bridge to National Highway 1.
According to many opinions, the lack of bus routes to the outskirts of the city is a great disadvantage for the people. Many families have to borrow money to buy motorbikes for their children to go to school, then save to pay off the debt because there is no public transportation.
Many people have to take “shared cars” to work, paying double or even triple the price of the bus, but there is no other way. This is also an opportunity for “shared cars” and disguised cars to operate freely because they do not have to register their business, so they do not pay taxes, and are beyond the control of the authorities.

According to the Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City, as of July 2025, the city's functional agencies are managing 211,050 cars; 2,323,100 motorbikes; not to mention vehicles from other places passing through the area.
Clearly, the transport infrastructure has not kept pace with the growth in private vehicles. The risk of traffic accidents on the road is always present, with motorcyclists being the most vulnerable.
Therefore, the desire to reopen some bus routes to serve people's needs needs to be considered and resolved.
Da Nang City (new) currently has 18 bus routes in operation.
Subsidized bus routes include: Hoa Hiep Nam Apartment Complex - East Sea Park; Xuan Dieu - Hoa Phuoc; Vung Thung - Pham Hung; Xuan Dieu - Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital; Xuan Dieu - Pham Hung.
Non-subsidized routes include: Kim Lien - Vietnam - Korea University; Song Han Port - Hoa Khuong; Da Nang Airport - Ba Na Hills Tourist Area; Song Han Port - High-tech Park; Central Bus Station - Vietnam - Korea University; Central Bus Station - 29/3 Park - Southern Bus Station; Da Nang - Tam Ky Bridge (old); Central Bus Station - Cua Dai; Tam Ky - Chu Lai Airport; Tam Ky - Bac Tra My, Tam Ky - Nui Thanh.
In addition, the city also has a specialized bus route serving tourism from Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate; inter-provincial buses adjacent to Da Nang - Hue.
