With the industry's efforts, in 2024, the construction, transportation and warehousing industry will contribute 12.5% of the country's GDP; of which the construction industry is 6.6%, the transportation industry is 5.9%; contributing 1.13 percentage points to the country's GDP growth of 7.09%.
Affirming that 2025 is a year of utmost importance for economic development, the Ministry of Construction has proposed solutions to achieve the assigned goals.
First of all, regarding the construction of transport works, to achieve 8% GDP growth nationwide, the GDP of the construction industry must reach 8.95%, contributing about 0.59 percentage points to the 8% GDP growth of the national economy.
According to statistics in recent years, the GDP of the construction sector of transport works accounts for about 10%-15% of the GDP of the construction industry.
To achieve the set target, GDP growth of the transport construction sector is 18% compared to 2024, equivalent to about 110,000 billion VND.
According to the plan to disburse public investment capital and deploy new routes in 2025, the expected disbursement will reach about VND 128,000 billion; ensuring a contribution to the country's growth of 0.6 percentage points out of the total 8% of the country's GDP.
Regarding transportation activities, especially the maritime sector, to achieve the country's GDP growth of 8%, the value of GDP in transportation and warehousing must reach at least 13.5% compared to 2024 and contribute 0.8 percentage points to the growth rate of the economy.
Presenting five specific solutions, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that in terms of institutions, the upcoming Railway Law will be considered for approval.
"We continue to make stronger environmental breakthroughs to facilitate the attraction of resources; remove bottlenecks and obstacles of many projects to free up resources," said the Minister.
Second, regarding capital disbursement, the target is 100% disbursement. Strengthen discipline and order in disbursing investment capital, clearly assigning responsibility to the head.
Third, implement investment projects to complete goals such as over 3,000 km of highways, 1,000 km of sea routes, and basically complete Long Thanh Airport.
Fourth, regarding transportation activities, focus on maritime, waterway, road, and air transport, and promote railways.
Fifth, accompany businesses to identify their difficulties and problems and then support their removal.
