At the program to launch volunteers and liaison officers to serve the Global Young Parliamentarians Conference, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy said that this is a rare opportunity to introduce Vietnam's achievements.
On the morning of September 12, the Central Youth Union organized a program to launch volunteers and liaison officers to serve the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, taking place in Vietnam from September 14 to 17.
Attending the program were Mr. Bui Quang Huy , Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union; Mr. Vu Minh Tuan, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office; Mr. Dinh Cong Sy, Deputy Head of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Young National Assembly Delegates Group.

"You are on an important mission"
Speaking at the program, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy congratulated 200 liaison officers and volunteers selected from more than 2,000 individuals who registered to participate.
“You are carrying out an important task, the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has confirmed that there are 76 international delegations from many different regions and territories, with more than 300 international delegates and many domestic delegates. The conference has a large nature and influence, is a rare opportunity to introduce Vietnam's economic development, the image of Vietnamese people, as well as the uniqueness of Vietnamese traditional culture... Mr. Huy emphasized.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy emphasized that each liaison and volunteer needs to pay attention to their attitude and sense of service to create a good impression on conference delegates, especially international delegates.
“The image of the country and people of Vietnam left in the international delegates is partly recorded through each liaison and volunteer serving the conference. The liaisons and volunteers need to uphold the spirit of volunteering in all conditions and circumstances; maintain a cheerful, enthusiastic, professional attitude…”, Mr. Huy said.

In particular, Mr. Huy emphasized that individuals accompanying each delegation need to always remember themselves as "cultural ambassadors", helping international delegates remember the country, people of Vietnam and the achievements that Vietnam has achieved.
“Volunteers need to remember that they are participating in an important multilateral diplomatic event of the National Assembly and the country, so they need to try their best to introduce to international friends about the country, the people of Vietnam and the achievements that Vietnam has achieved,” Mr. Bui Quang Huy emphasized.

The First Secretary of the Central Youth Union believes that with careful preparation in knowledge, skills, health, spirit and attitude, each liaison and volunteer serving the conference will excellently complete the assigned tasks; and at the same time have many beautiful memories when participating in this important event.

Ms. Do Thi Kim Hoa, Director of the National Volunteer Center under the Central Youth Union, said that there were 200 volunteers and liaisons serving the conference, selected from 2,024 applications. Most of them are students from major universities; some are Vietnamese students studying abroad, there is 1 Lao volunteer and 1 Cambodian volunteer.
“You are all very responsible, conscious of researching the content related to the conference, learning about the countries of the delegations you will accompany, and especially you are all very eager, waiting for the official conference to take place to serve and contribute to the overall success of the conference,” said Ms. Hoa.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Vu Ha My, a first-year student at Foreign Trade University, said she realized that the greater the honor, the greater the responsibility.
“This is an opportunity for us to learn the knowledge and skills that young people of the new era need. It is also a challenge that urges us to explore, first of all, our own country, as we will now act as representatives of the young generation of Vietnam in contact with parliamentarians from all over the world. We will need to build a professional, friendly and knowledgeable image, so that international friends have a good impression of Vietnamese youth,” Ha My shared.
