Tieu Nhat used to be a student in the Russian class at the Foreign Language High School (Hanoi). However, because of her special love for the beautiful country of Korea, the girl born in 2002 chose to study Korean and applied to study abroad there.
Thanks to her excellent academic performance throughout three years of high school, along with outstanding extracurricular activities and outstanding language skills, Tieu Nhat won a full scholarship to Sogang University.
While studying Journalism and Communications, she always maintained a perfect score (4.0/4.0) throughout her four years of university. Not only that, this Gen Z girl also successfully won the GKS government scholarship and the Lee&Won Asia Fellowship scholarship while studying in Korea.
In particular, the female student from Hanoi was honored to become one of four Vietnamese representatives accompanying the Korean Tourism Organization in 2024.

Great opportunities from learning foreign languages
According to Tieu Nhat, the most outstanding factor that helped her win many valuable scholarships was her language ability. English is a compulsory subject in the curriculum, so she did not have much difficulty in mastering and interviewing for studying abroad in this language.
In addition, Tieu Nhat chose to study Russian and Korean because she has relatives in both countries. However, after much deliberation, the Vietnamese female student decided to choose Korea due to its geographical advantages, the suitability of its education system and the major she was studying.
Although she majored in Russian in high school, she always tried her best and achieved TOPIK 6 certificate, the highest level in the Korean proficiency test.
Expressing her opinion on learning foreign languages, she said: "When applying for a scholarship, a foreign language certificate is not required but is a strong point in the application.
The school values both English and Korean certificates, but if I had to choose between the two languages, I would still prefer Korean because I can demonstrate my English ability during interviews."

Sharing about how to review for the Korean exam, Tieu Nhat said there are very practical practice methods for each skill including listening, reading and writing.
The former student of the Foreign Language Center formed the habit of listening to Korean regularly through movies and TV shows to practice her reflexes and get used to the native speaker's intonation. Thanks to that, her reflex skills improved a lot when she took the real exam.
Regarding reading skills, this beautiful female student emphasized the importance of learning a lot of vocabulary, especially Sino-Korean words (Korean words of Chinese origin), because the TOPIK exam uses a lot of these words.
She believes that learning Sino-Korean words helps her to deduce and remember many different words from one root. When memorizing new words, she recommends grouping synonyms and structures together to make them easier to remember.
Regarding writing skills, Tieu Nhat focused on doing many test questions and learning advanced grammar structures to get the highest possible score.
In addition to possessing an impressive profile, Tieu Nhat also won many scholarships thanks to her confidence in interviews.
She shared: "No matter how excellent your profile is, if you cannot answer fluently and convincingly in the interview, all the numbers and achievements are worthless. Confidence does not necessarily have to be expressed through flowery words or native-like pronunciation.
The important thing is your attitude when answering questions. Always stay calm, look the interviewer straight in the eye and it doesn't matter if you speak slowly, as long as you fully convey your opinions and feelings."
Thanks to her language proficiency, enthusiasm and creativity, the 10x female student was chosen as one of four Vietnamese representatives to accompany the Korean Tourism Organization in 2024.

Motivation to develop yourself every day
When the Korean Tourism Organization opened the application, the girl from Hanoi quickly seized the opportunity. Tieu Nhat confided: "I feel extremely happy and honored with this opportunity.
However, I cannot avoid the pressure because this time I have a more specific role, not only studying or participating in extracurricular activities, but also promoting Korean culture and beauty to young people in Vietnam as well as internationally.
This requires me to always maintain a high sense of responsibility. This is not only an achievement to enjoy but also a process of effort to create other achievements."
On her TikTok channel, the girl born in 2002 cleverly combines personal experiences of Korean culture, cuisine, music... with the differences in Vietnamese culture, bringing joy and excitement to viewers.
Through her efforts, Tieu Nhat also hopes to inspire young Vietnamese people, so that they have the opportunity to have valuable experiences in the "Land of Kim Chi".
"I was honored to attend the ceremony to honor the Korean tourism ambassador, meet many famous people and big faces in many different fields.
After interacting with those talented people, I received a lot of motivation and positive influence to develop myself, becoming a better version every day," Tieu Nhat shared.
