In Ward 5, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City, many schools have been renovated, newly built, inaugurated and put into operation such as Kindergarten 5, Hoa Binh Primary School... and today is Tran Van On Primary School.
The problem that worries the education sector in Ho Chi Minh City before each new school year is the lack of classrooms. In Ho Chi Minh City, many districts, towns, and Thu Duc City, new schools are built every year but still cannot keep up with the population growth rate. Many schools lack classrooms to implement 2 sessions/day according to the 2018 General Education Program.

According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced on February 15 at the 2022-2023 school year review meeting, as of December 22, 2022, the whole city has 150 schools with 16,481 classrooms above grade 4, 3,430 grade 4 classrooms, 1,013 temporary classrooms and 15 borrowed classrooms.
Of these, 22,282 classrooms have sufficient area and furniture to organize teaching, 1,517 classrooms have sufficient area but lack furniture and 583 classrooms have sufficient furniture but lack area.
