On the afternoon of September 9, Dr. Nguyen Duc Ly, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department (Saigon Tam Ky General Hospital - located in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam) said that the hospital's doctors had just successfully delivered a baby boy, helping him to be born safely with a "record" of 6 umbilical cords wrapped around his neck.

According to initial information, at 2:00 a.m. the same day, Ms. LNTL (32 years old, in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam) was admitted to the hospital in labor.

At 9am, with the help of obstetricians, Ms. L. gave birth to a baby boy naturally. Remarkably, the baby boy was born safely with 6 umbilical cords wrapped around his neck. The baby boy weighed 2.8 kg and was Ms. L.'s second son.

According to Dr. Ly, a baby boy being born safely with up to 6 umbilical cord loops around his neck is an extremely rare occurrence. Normally, a fetus only has about 2-3 umbilical cord loops around its neck, and more specifically, only up to 4.

"The wonderful thing is that Ms. L. gave birth naturally, the baby boy was safe, rosy, and cried loudly. The successful delivery of a pregnant woman who gave birth safely with 6 umbilical cords wrapped around her neck is the first "miracle" of the hospital's Obstetrics and Gynecology Department," said Dr. Ly.
