A map of Vietnam made from 500kg of salt placed at Hung Vuong Square (Bac Lieu province) attracts many people and tourists to check-in.
Bac Lieu is the country's largest salt granary with a total area of nearly 1,400 hectares. The traditional salt production here has a history of more than 100 years.
In 2020, salt making in Bac Lieu province was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Bac Lieu salt is not only widely used domestically but also exported to countries including Japan and Korea.
The festival is an opportunity to promote the salt industry and salt products to all regions, connect trade, and increase income for salt farmers.
