UK signs Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation (ADPC)

Cuba and the UK signed the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation (ADPC), which aims to build the foundation for bilateral relations on issues such as economic development, the environment and human rights.

After extensive negotiations, the UK Foreign , Commonwealth and Development Affairs Minister for the Americas and the Caribbean, David Rutley MP, and Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister, Anayansi Rodríguez, signed the agreement on 22 November.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez emphasized that the signing of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the two sides will contribute to strengthening and expanding bilateral relations, as well as taking advantage of existing potential.

This is MP David Rutley's first official visit to Cuba and he plans to meet with representatives of several United Nations agencies as well as local businessmen.

In 2018, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited London. A year later, Prince Charles and Duchess Camila traveled to Havana and held a series of meetings that contributed to strengthening Cuba-UK relations, based on dialogue and mutual respect.
