The total number of inpatients admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours was 128,066. The total number of surgeries was 14,206, of which 2,410 were emergency surgeries due to accidents. In the past 24 hours, medical facilities delivered 1,867 babies. During the 5-day Tet holiday, up to the second day of Tet, medical facilities delivered 11,678 babies.
Regarding medical examination and emergency treatment related to traffic accidents and suspected traffic accidents during the Tet holiday, the Ministry of Health said that in the past 24 hours from January 29 to 30, the total number of medical examinations and emergency treatment for suspected traffic accidents was 2,849 people; the total number of medical examinations and emergency treatment in the past 5 days was 16,897 people.
The number of patients suspected of being involved in traffic accidents who had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment or monitoring in the past 24 hours was 1,324; the total in the past 5 days was 6,622.
Also in the past 5 days, the number of suspected deaths due to traffic accidents was 98 people, of which 48 people died before reaching medical facilities, 23 people died at medical facilities and 27 people were expected to die.
In the past 24 hours, there were 121 cases of examination and emergency care due to firecrackers and fireworks; 3 cases of examination and emergency care due to accidents caused by homemade weapons and explosives. Compared to the same period of the Giap Thin Lunar New Year, this year, there has been a sharp decrease in the number of examination and emergency care due to firecrackers and fireworks; and homemade weapons and explosives.
The number of emergency cases due to digestive disorders, food poisoning from homemade food, and alcohol/beer intoxication was 104, of which 102 people had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment.
In addition, the Ministry of Health also said that during the 5-day Tet holiday, 483 people were examined and treated for digestive disorders, food poisoning from homemade food, and alcohol/beer intoxication, of which 294 people had to be hospitalized for monitoring and treatment, and no deaths were recorded.
